True Leadership

Hello friends, We all talk about what leadership should look like in an organization. The issue is that no one talks about what true leadership is. Three things that matters to a leader and should do to ensure group collaboration. To be in step with professor Hackman, there are 3 requirements a front runner must do to be able to attain optimum collaboration inside an organization with his/her crew. The primary and maximum vital one is to ensure that the conditions are set for members to self-direct themselves. Empowerment generates agreement with (both within the supervisor and oneself) and might go a long way. The second thing is to take note of launching the group nicely. Beginnings are very vital and even though tweaks may be needed to restore alongside the way, a terrific start is indicative of an awesome outcome. And last but never least, a true leader should provide constant training for the crew participants as the undertaking unfolds. A leader must have followers but a true leader must have followers who care about each other. Implementation is the hardest of all and during this phase is where most will fail miserably. Diplomacy and Fear--- What!!!!


Hello to all my followers and believers. I say it truthfully if you want to reach a goal in life  be true to who you are and never ever quit!!! Why is it that people believe that they can manipulate others? I believe that manipulation happens all the time but it happens when others allow it to happen. When people get caught doing such things they call it diplomacy. I love the word Diplomacy is a way of lying to get what you want.

 Diplomacy is a way of playing people as pawns in a game of life and to me it is a really bad way to build relationships because they are built on lies yes pretty sad when people in power positions uses diplomacy not in a good way. It also means a way as to attain one's own ends and yet avoid any unpleasantness or opposition. 

I always find that by understanding people just being able to understand people you learn so much from their facial expressions when speaking with them without ever asking any questions to probe into their life. I believe the human mind is the greatest tool ever and we all have one we just do no t use as it should be used. The mind is a powerful tool and will always be a mystery. 

A perplexity of the mind is  why some people who seem to have all the advantages — the right connections, and experience — never seem to reach their potential and have lived an unhappy life within themselves that it makes them sick with envy of others. They have a position of power while others who have had to struggle for everything they have reached incredible heights of success. It hinges on determination and being true to yourself. If you have the will to succeed, you will somehow find a way, regardless of the obstacles you encounter whether they are people who are quote unquote diplomatic and use their power of position for manipulation. 

No organization has enough experience, education, native ability, and knowledge to ensure a future, without the cooperation of their people. I find it remarkable in these times of forward technology how businesses believe that because they own it or have the money they can move forward without the help of people, I just find it amazing.I find it hurtful how when you have people who can move your company or department forward and businesses do not allow then to shine and instead hold them back because of personal issues.

These people will eventually leave or do just enough to keep their jobs safe. These type of people know when they are being pushed down and the truth is these people do not allow others to bring them down.
I have lead a few study groups where politicians have used these type of tactics on each other and the one who wins was the one that did not allow the other to bring him down.

Let us move on to FEAR and what is fear?
A very unpleasant or disturbing feeling caused by the presence or imminence of danger;

There many kinds of fears and there are many ways of conquering fear as well. If you know yourself and your mind and you can manage your emotions my friends you can beat all your fears.

When we feel in control, we’re not afraid. When we have a level of comfort with something, it’s not scary.
Anything that gives you a feeling of control over your situation helps you keep your cool.
Without a feeling of control, when stress gets high we literally can’t think straight.
Amy Arnsten studies the effects of limbic system arousal on prefrontal cortex functioning. She summarized the importance of a sense of control for the brain during an interview filmed at her lab at Yale. “The loss of prefrontal function only occurs when we feel out of control. It’s the prefrontal cortex itself that is determining if we are in control or not. Even if we have the illusion that we are in control, our cognitive functions are preserved.” This perception of being in control is a major driver of behavior.
This is why fear often seems so random and irrational. And why you’re often afraid of all the wrong things.

“Face your fears.” It’s a cliche. It’s vague and unhelpful. But it’s accurate.
You need to spend time with your fears. Get closer to them. Intensify them.
Only then will you stop being afraid.

Take a second. Think about your worst fear. Maybe it’s speaking in public.
So you’re speaking in public and everyone is utterly bored by you and not paying attention.
Hold on that for a second. It stings, but stay with me. Now make your fear worse.

You’re speaking in public and you wet yourself. Everyone laughs. It’s mortifying. But spend a second there.
Now make it even worse.

Stay with it. No, you’re not going to die.
Now relax. Just follow your breathing — in and out — for a few seconds.

You’re on your way to conquering your fear.
Sound overly simple? Nope. This is exactly what’s recommended by Harvard Medical School professor, Ronald Siegel.

When We Assume In Life And Business OOOPS!-- ASS-U-ME ---Luciano The Key Santini


Good morning to all my continued readers and supporters of this great journey to assist people reach their potential as individuals and also business owners reach their goals in life and business. We all want to accomplish what is best for both the mind and body. We should understand exactly what that means.

Sometimes we will try to accomplish things because they sound good at the time while not getting the correct mind set in place and thus we find ourselves failing. The other thing for today is to have a clear understanding regarding leadership and as we all know countless books have been written over the last hundred years on this subject.

Don’t overlook small details. Remember that the universe and all that is in it are made from tiny atoms.


There is an old expression that says, “If you take care of the little things, the big things will take care of themselves.” It’s another way of saying that every job is composed of many small details, any one of which, if overlooked, can create big problems later. If you have trouble dealing with details — paperwork, expense accounts, and other annoying details — set aside a time during your work cycle (daily, weekly, or monthly) to deal with such unpleasant tasks. 
 
Prepare yourself mentally to deal with those tasks, and you may find that you dispense with them quickly and efficiently. You may even find that the job wasn’t nearly as unpleasant as you expected it to be. 
 


What is leadership?

I can tell you that most leaders today are called leaders but they have no idea what leadership is. I can also tell you from the countless people that I have coached both at a supervisor level or an executive level that most manage or lead through fear or simply put they lead by power of position in other words what I say goes or go look or find another job. 

I can tell you that this work for a while but most will eventually fail. My friend and one of my many mentors and friends has stated what it means to be a leader and of course I agree but have disagreed with him in the past and guess what that just makes me human with a different way of looking at things. Here what I wrote to an executive leader regarding a letter he had sent me. 

Please be aware that all this is under the assumption that your leaders know and have a clear understanding regarding implementation and execution of the strategic plan and what each mean such as:

What is and how to execute successfully transformational change to be able to create a high performance culture which in turn becomes integration between both companies.
 
Communication skills: What is the process of not only transmission of words but to create the thought that  will or should follow making sure it was clearly understood.
 
Relationship building skills: What is the process of repairing a damaged relationship between partners? Or Staff members?
 
Building and getting the buy in of employers.

  • Solving problems effectively. The process that precedes decision making is problem solving, when information is gathered, analyzed, and considered. This is deceptively difficult to get right, yet it is a key input into decision making for major issues  as well as daily ones (such as how to handle a team dispute).
  • Operating with a strong results orientation. Leadership is about not only developing and communicating a vision and setting objectives but also following through to achieve results. Leaders with a strong results orientation tend to emphasize the importance of efficiency and productivity and to prioritize the highest-value work.
  • Seeking different perspectives. This trait is conspicuous in managers who monitor trends affecting organizations, grasp changes in the environment, encourage employees to contribute ideas that could improve performance, accurately differentiate between important and unimportant issues, and give the appropriate weight to stakeholder concerns. Leaders who do well on this dimension typically base their decisions on sound analysis and avoid the many biases to which decisions are prone.
  • Supporting others. Leaders who are supportive understand and sense how other people feel. By showing authenticity and a sincere interest in those around them, they build trust and inspire and help colleagues to overcome challenges. They intervene in group work to promote organizational efficiency, allaying unwarranted fears about external threats and preventing the energy of employees from dissipating into internal conflict.

He believed that leadership was simply making and changing policies and sending out to supervisors to implement.Remember that sometimes we think we know it all simply because we are sitting in a position of power and sometimes that is where we will fail as leaders because we assume and we all know what that means right and if not please allow me to remind ourselves.

When we do not make sure whether something is right or wrong or we simply do not know or understand and we push and push by assuming the other person has a clear understanding what we mean. 

When we 
assume the consequence can make us look like an ASS-U-ME

Persisting in what you believe which should always be to find the good in all people-Quentin Santini 13 Years Old

Hello and good morning to all who read my blog I truly appreciate your comments and suggestions because it give me a much better idea regarding what to write next or any specific subject thank you thank you.

Did you know that most sickness and ill hearten thoughts come from a negative way of thinking. The negativity will perform ill thinking and before you know it you are a sick person.If you constantly think negative you will become sick. Something to really think about today.


Today I would like to start with some motivation for yourself and something you may share with anyone that might need a lift in life. In life I know from experience that because of what we want and what we are searching for always seems to be to make more and more money. The question I have is why is that? I believe it is because we are always wanting what others may have and that to makes a miserable life to be living in. 

I would like you to think about this because it is a reality check for yourself and I know it was for me. I have made the thousands and thousands of dollars and I have had some great and high paying positions but one day came a realization that I needed to stop focusing on money and begin to focus on what was really important which was my family.


We need to look at life from a perspective of what has real meaning for me!! This is more then finding your purpose finding purpose is looking for why you are here on earth. Finding meaning means looking inside of yourself and meshing with what is outside of you and bring that together to a realization of who you are;

Some people find religious belief more than adequate to fill their lives with meaning. Being a "True Believer", however, will only result in giving up your identity for the identity of the collective. Conflicts and mid-life crisis inevitably arise when the adopted concept of self conflicts with the true self. If you are inquisitive and trusting of your own intelligence, the first step is to find your true self. Self revelation is not for the squeamish. Take the time to let go of societal and personal preconceptions, letting your identity emerge without construct.


My son is one of the most loving kids I have ever known because of the passion he has found in skateboarding

When he made that statement to me it blew me away! I simply went WOW!!

The truth is that we will all have a different take on what we find to be meaningful but we have to find who we are and once we do well things will begin to fall into place in our paths of life.I like to believe that all people are rational and loving but is that the case. In my mind that is the the case I want to believe that however reality has shown me otherwise and well when I face that obstacle I change my way of thing for that moment and move on but never stay stuck thinking for one moment that all people are that way.


 
 Falsehood does evermore have a way of publishing itself.
It is virtually impossible to conceal the truth forever. It is the natural order of things that the truth will eventually come out. This single fact is the foundation of our judicial system and the basis on which all human relationships are formed. A business, professional, or personal relationship built upon a lie cannot long endure, but one that is founded on truth and equality of benefit for the participants is unlimited. 

Make it a practice to tell the truth in all that you do — even when it doesn’t matter — and you will form a habit of truthfulness. You will know instinctively that it is better to tell the truth and face the consequences than to launch a falsehood that will eventually make itself known to the world.

What Is Empathy And Do We Truly Understand It's Meaning--Luciano The Key Santini--SSDE


Good morning to all my friends and readers oh my readers are my friends. I want to talk about how each one of us are connected in one way or another. I was at a seminar on leadership and you know what I learned was that indeed we are all connected through the universal string of energy. I know we may not understand what exactly means but we are. 

Have you ever been watching a movie or even better yet the Olympics and you see that one person who just won the gold and you either get emotional or you get the chills. That is because we are feeling that human emotion and connection. My question then becomes why is it that some people do not understand empathy and passion and compassion for others, Why? Why? I have done some research and find that people are just being human when it comes to their own benefit. What I mean by this is that when it benefits you the individual you do not think about the impact that the move you are about to make will make on that other person. 

Be true to yourself and believe you can actually live by your beliefs and do the right thing

The unfortunate thing is that it exists everywhere, The place where it needs to be erased is that in large organizations it is a prevalent situation and it shows so much more.The unfortunate thing is that Unfortunately one cannot do a thing about it. It is very tiring and more frustrating to see people who seem your leaders become bigots in front of you and all you do is smile because you see who they really are. Well my friend stick on your strong beliefs and try to influence those around you to do the right thing. If I can influence one persons attitude then I have accomplished something.

The other real truth to all of this is that most people are or like to be simple. They only see what is in front of them example unemployment-Need to get a job obvious right!! right.The reasons is because they have not taken the time to learn about what is going on around them or to learn about life in general.They do not learn about politics or economics beyond their scope of comfort.




Reason this often happens is because people become lazy in the way they think and taking learned habits from friends and family and never think for themselves. How many times do you see people create an issue at your place of work and blame others and never take ownership of what they have created and many many times you will see someone else pay for their mistakes. The other issue comes in on leadership some people believe that they are great leaders when in fact they are only mediocre to say the least because they are actually part of the problem.

I have worked and have seen it personally where many fall into this little world of thinking and as frustrating as it is for those that are have self awareness it becomes very very frustrating and have to tolerate this type of behaviors. Reward people for bad behavior because as a supposed leader you have no idea how to create a solution for the situation you have created. I laugh inside when I see this type of leadership and sad at the same time because these people simply fold under pressure and other pay by receiving punishment for doing a great job.

Now ask yourself and write me your comments I'm very interested in hearing from you. What kind of message does this send to the environment and community?

If you are empathetic then you can see the world as a community and try to help others and if you are not then you are the type that if you are in a leadership or management roll and what is worse you manage because of your position and power then you simply exploit others for your own survival and that is one sad way to manage others or what is worst you actually believe you are a leader. 

Another perspective is that you will see many people cry and moan about everything. These are the type that do not see anything past their noses-sad I know but so true. 

You have the leaders who really cannot see past their noses and yet somehow they are managing you. How the hell did that happen!! Well government agencies and some private industries where family members are the heads of operations ha ha ha that is funny. I have to have some humor in all of this Aw Common Laugh a little!!!!!

BUSINESS TIPS
I will start by saying that we all need to take a look at our human resources department and see if we have the right people in the right positions to make our business grow. This is a department that most large and small business owners forget about and this out of mind out of sight issue can and will create some big issues in your business if not looked at.


 What can happen is that you will think that you have the right people in the right positions when in actuality you may have all the wrong people in the key positions and well you get the picture where I am going with this so get on it and take a look at your human resources.

In a world where no one really cares whether you survive as a business, what and how do you look at the your customers,family and friends? You see as a business solutions provider those are questions I will always ask you as an individual or business owner. The reason why is because of the following:

What are some of the real issues a small business owner is facing today.

Let look at some such as. Lack of marketing this is a big one though we as small business owners do not take a serious look at this we really should. We need t ask for help when we needed it the most. We need to reach out a to someone who can guide you through t hep process of marketing. 

We need to find someone who can walk us through the entire search for the right techniques that will meet our needs in our specific business that we are running.



What about budgeting? We need money to make money so everyone says right well the truth of the matter is that you do some pretty tight budgeting with little money as long as the little money you may have you spend it in the right areas that are needed the most and make the most sense in other words use some common sense.

How about managing your time as an owner correctly  oh yes time is money right well it can be if you manage it correctly and that takes some serious thinking yes critical thinking on how you are going to use your time. 

One must also learn the techniques that are out there right and if you cannot find the right way to utilize your time efficiently then hire someone to teach you immediately.There is more then meets the ye when it comes to managing your time and business.

We are always thinking about promising ourselves some downtime -- a few days or even hours when we cut back on our workload and give our self a chance to relax. So exactly when are do that? Today, can be that day take it cancel appointments and call and just relax we have to start some time might as well be today.you've got to start.

The Time Is Never Perfect Do It Now -Luciano Santini

Good morning my friends it has been a while since I wrote on my blog. The reason why is because we have had to move to a larger home due to my boys growing up. It has been a job just trying to make the time between my family and the move and keeping up with seminars and workshops whew!! But it was accomplished.
What I would like to talk about today is simple really. I would like to talk about how I was able to pull the move keep up with my work and family time during the move. You see when I am faced with an issue I welcome it because it is a new challenge that life brings. We can either become idle or do nothing or we can tackle it with vigor and beat it down until it is done.
I am not saying beat yourself down (laughing) what I am suggesting is that you take whatever issue you may be faced with and break it down to smaller goals and get them done one by one. My wife was upset that I did not hire someone to box our stuff and move them for us and I was like what!
I said let us look at this and perhaps a lesson can be learned and taught at the same time. She was opened to the thought so we moved on. We went to places to pick up boxes and took them home and had the boys tape them up to make them stronger.
The boys enjoyed doing this stuff and it was fun for me to actually see them do some work for themselves so there was the lesson for them and gave us something to really appreciate and smile about.
They are 12-7 and 4 years in age but to be honest they were so happy to do these things and help us and of course they were rewarded with some of their favorite dishes and hot chocolate and a few dollars here and there.
When you are faced with a problem that may seem you cannot do because it is to big well break it down to smaller ones and you will reach your goal.
BUSINESS SITUATIONS
Inn business my friend it is the same way, sometimes we are faced with issues that seem too big to do or face and guess what you take the above steps we talked about during the move and you can break them down into smaller pieces and get the situation or issue resolved. I understand that in business it is a more difficult task but it can be done.

I have talked to so many business owners regarding this issue on facing issues such as customer service which seems to be the biggest issue with most businesses and why well it is simple (not Really) but it can be if the owner would take the time take an  inventory of his talent that he has employed and then make some tough choices that perhaps needed to have been made in the past so it would not affect his future of his business, but they do not do this because it has been to long or they have no idea how to that.
 The end result with not doing anything is that nothing will get done or accomplished and your customers both internal and external will suffer during this situation.
The other issue is how long has this been going on? If has been going on for a while the choices that need to be made become far more difficult because perhaps people have bonded or they have set in their ways and do welcome change. Sometimes one has to make some tough choices when it comes to family and business.

As you can see taking care of business is easy but you have to have a plan and a system in place to be able to figure out your issues and problems and resolve them. It can be and it will be difficult at times but they have to be made. The best way to accomplish this is either to hire a business coach to assist you with a plan or simply to take care of the issue for you.
Perhaps sometimes it can be daunting to capture this way of thinking but if you want your business to flourish then you have to make some tough choices.

Luciano (The Key) Santini on Life And Business

Good morning to all my friends and well it might be afternoon in some places around the world.


WOW!!!! I remember the post I did when we went into 2012 and now here is December the end of 2012. I ask myself questions like: What Have I done this year? Where is my Life this year? What have I accomplished this year? Where is my business this year? The most important question is: How am I going to end this yaer to prepare me for 2013.

The way we live our lives has changed dramatically and you know what I am talking about because the world is always turning this way and that way and sometimes we get caught up in the drama and we do not follow through on our dreams do we?

I find that both in life and business that this is a fact of reality. There are many questions that you need to ask yourself in silence and aswer them to yourself and yourself only. 

Many people have asked me why should they ask themselves such questions and I answer them like this: You need to answer these questions such as these because if you are going to lie to yourself then what do you Have to look forward to!!


In this video I read a poem I wrote on wasting time. enjoy it and perhaps you will have a better perspectiive on time. You see time is not a thing to take for granted because once that time is gone it is gone and you can never get it back. So it is essential that we take care of our time we are given on this earth to make the best of it whether in business or personal life.

BUSINESS 
Business well it is different because in business it is about making a profit and there is nothing wrong with that at all. The problem that I have found mostly when I train businesses on customer service or management skills or communication and organizational skills I find that they are not focused on their lives. 

There is so much turmoil within an organization because no one ever wants to be on a team and they may tell you to your face that they in fact do but the reality is that they are doing nothing more the having a conversation with you the owners.

If you want to have a great customer based staff you need to really understand human nature and figure out what they want and give it to them. What!!! do you mean Luciano? Well first of all you need have an understanding of what it is to be a human and what we all want which is a sense of security. 


The owners of a business cares about the bottom line and you should but at the same time how are you aquiring that botton line is what is really going to matter at the end.


Lets take a look at a few strategies that you can use to get you there:
 First of all have a  well rounded idea of your business and your need for training staff. I have to tell you that employee training and giving them proper support and not half training will get you the results you are looking for. 

I realize that it is a cost but sometimes we need to get over it and do it.Training is the first thing that suffers but will always remain a crtical element of your business.
 When a company's good intentions are to keep costs down and cut back on training it will undermine the company's to remain on top of the game of competition.

I know that sometimes small businesses fall short here however they need to see the future a bit and understand where they are in their training. As an owner I understand costs but when it all comes down sometimes you need that face to face coach or trainer to come in and show you hands on how to achieve your business goals.
