Whatever comes to mind--Luciano Santini

Good morning and today sure is beautiful in the Santa Barbara area. Today is also small business day in our area so I might go spend some money today so lets all go out and help the small businesses explode!!. My friends today is also my sons 13th Birthday and well he makes me very proud smart and sometimes I forget he is only a kid. It feels as if it was just yesterday when I was sitting at the hospital waiting to hold him. Today's blog will not be about anything in particular in or on business just whatever comes to mind so enjoy.

Any way Happy-Birthday son. I love you

Inspiration comes from any where if but look for it. I get inspiration from my kids everyday. It is them that keep me going like the energizer bunny. People always ask me you look so young and yet you are an old man and I am like what did you just say friend!! What!!.

It is my boys that keep me going strong and I am sure they will continue until I can go no more but until then I will enjoy every day with them. Life is a funny thing let me tell you.
There will be times when you laugh and there will be many times when you will cry.

They say men should not cry well let me just say that is not true at all. I cried each time one of my kids were born because it put life in a different perspective. I always wonder about life and how long will life carry me and where will I be when they get older. I ask myself many questions each time and each time I have a different answer.

There are so many secrets to life some are given each day and some you just have to search for. Life can bring happiness each and every day or can bring so much sadness either way you have to be ready to react on each one of them. The funny thing is that as a father/mother you have to make so many choices regarding your kids each and every day and sometimes we make the wrong ones, I know I have made some pretty bad ones including insurance choices which I had to change real quickly whew!!

In today's time there are so many people out there who need our help within our United States and yet so many people look outside of the USA to help kids and people which by the way I believe it is a great thing if you can afford to do it by all means more power to those that can and bless them. The point that I am simply trying to make is that we have such a need to help here in the USA. There are so many people in need everywhere.

This Thanksgiving day last week was a special one for me for many reasons. I learned that the family where we get together at my wife's parents house and realized that the crowed that normally show up has dwindled down and I realized how thankful I am for my family.

Everything you create or acquire begins in the form of desire.

In order to act, you must have a purpose. If you want to act successfully in all but the most mundane affairs, you must embrace that purpose with a burning desire. Many people think they want to be successful, but since they do not back that thought with an intense drive, they never achieve success. Cultivate your desire. Feed it with thoughts of yourself enjoying whatever it is you seek. It’s like stoking the furnace of a steam engine. You need to build up enough pressure to carry yourself over hills; if your desire doesn’t burn hotly enough, you’ll find yourself stalled and rolling backwards. The secret to action is a red-hot desire.

Thanksgiving and Reality-SSDE Luciano Santini

Hello my friends and here we are on  another beautiful Saturday morning. You know I was thinking what can you be thankful on this Thanksgiving week. Well for me there are many things such as thanking every single one of you who cares to read my blogging that I am sure at times does not make sense ha ha ha. I am sure. All joking set aside really think about what you are thankful for in your life. It could be your kids or your job or your husband/wife/girlfriend/lover whoever it may be.

"Smile when you are in front of a challenge and tell yourself I can do this"-Luciano Santini

In life there will always be challenges and obstacles before us however the question becomes; How do we deal with them? Leaders have ways of doing this. But first lets ask a question. Can we change? I like this quote:

"The curious paradox is that when
I accept myself just as I am, then
I can change. The good life is a
process, not a state of being."
                    Carl Rogers

I think that sometimes we are so afraid to make the changes that in in fact know we need to make so we can reach our goals and dreams but we are so afraid of change !! Why is that?
We can struggle with it every day but at the end guess what the truth will be staring at you again so why not just face it and deal with it now!

"Everything we hear is an opinion, not a fact. Everything we see is a perspective, not the truth." - Marcus Aurelius

I love this saying which is well so true:
Baltasar Gracian, the insightful and pragmatic 17th century Jesuit priest, cautioned, "Truth is abhorred by the masses." Instead, they try to make true that which they love -- a self-delusive practice that virtually guarantees frustration and failure.

When an individual is able to recognize the truth about life that individual will be able to be part of an elite group of people that does not chase lucid dreams but understands reality. I believe that when we do not face the truth we live in fantasies that perhaps we conjure up in our minds which in turn will create a false reality thus we will live in a fantasy world causing issues in dealing with real problems in our daily life.

What about the consequences that come by lying to ourselves because we choose to live in fantasy land. My friends please understand though a consequence does not arrive immediately you will not be prepared when it does arrive so be conscientious of what you do whether bad or good there will always be a consequence.

Remember for every action there will be a reaction sometime. The issue is that when we do something and believe it to be right when in fact it is the wrong thing to do the consequence will eventually arrive and sometimes it may take a while but when it does finally arrive you will not be prepared because it has been a while and then you get confused and start to ask yourself many questions such as:

Why me?
I do not deserve this? blah blah!!!!

I love reality and I try to live in a real world but yes I do slip into fantasies and I have to tell you that I have paid my dues for doing so and they have been costly whether in relationships or business or friendships been there.

Most people create the world they live in from a perspective of what the world is in their minds eye and not the way the real world is and here is where the problem is my friends. Live in a world that is real and not a fantasy because this will help you live a more balanced life.

We create these stories in our heads and we start to believe them to be true and yet they are nothing more than a fantasy but in our minds they are real and then we start to believe them to be true and this is where we rarely catch ourselves until it is to late and we are facing the consequences.

Silence is never Good when it comes to important issues-Luciano The Key Santini

Good morning to all my friends and readers. I want to thank you for making this blog such a success. Thank you thank you so very much. In this post I want to talk about a serious issue that affects every single one of us whether we have children or not; But first this:

 Faith

Faith is the element, the “chemical” which, when mixed with prayer, gives one direct communication with Infinite Intelligence.

Today I would like to talk about why is it that politicians both at a local level and a worldwide level do not understand the meaning of what  children mean to us. I really would like to talk about this and bring some light into it. Everyone states and say in conversations and I have heard it it so many times that there is no longer any meaning behind .

The phrase being ( The children are our future) To me it seems that this has become more of a Cliche to many and have forgotten that they were children at one time and some one if they are successful protected them making sure they had a safe environment when they played.

I believe we all need to come together to make sure that we as parent are making a difference in our children's lives and come together to make sure that police chiefs and any one that operates a city a nation and a home puts all of their difference aside and create an environment where children can feel they can play safely without wondering if a drug dealer or a murder is going to walk up to them and asking them to sell drugs or go out and kill someone!!!

In the 1960s Frankie Valli and Four Seasons had a hit song titled,
“Silence Is Golden.”

The song is about a relationship where a friend knows a woman is being betrayed by her significant other.

The advice offered to this friend in the song is to keep quiet because the woman won’t believe what she is being told.
Silence about important issues is never a good thing, one needs to be able to communicate with an open mind in order to have other listen.

Dramatic I know but at the same time take a look around your town and ask yourself (Are we doing what we should be doing for our children?)

I can go on the radio and I did for a while making sure that not only my children were safe but all he children in what ever community I was living at the time. I have to say did I make a difference well yes I did and I have in many areas from Los Angeles California to the Santa Barbara County but the question becomes am I bale to do it alone and the answer is absolutely not!!!

I see my children growing and there are always challenges in school in our communities we ll understand these things and many more struggles that individuals never ever talk about I understand but these are your children.

I can only speak for myself and well I love mine and well i can only push and lead a number of people who wish to do the same for their children but countries-cities and communities need to come together and believe and I mean really believe that the safety of our children is paramount for the future of this world.

We need leaders real leaders that can think outside the box to bring a safety environment to the world. Leadership is all bout believing that you can can help people grow and achieve potential.  True leaders will always continue to grow or find ways to expand their own minds to reaching their potential or that of others if they stop  growing themselves then they stop recognizing the potential for our young adults and children's needs.

Please do not forget to leave me your comments on linked in.
Thank you and have a wonderful day!!

We may fall short in our quest for our dreams but only when we leave them behind is when we will loose them.

Good morning my friends and to all my readers and clients. Here we are on a beautiful Saturday and looking forward to the festivities that are coming during this month. I am trying to figure out what I am going to do this year for my birthday  which is coming up on December 25. I cannot believe I will be one more younger (LOL) Yes I am laughing out loud because I know you believe me yea right!!!

He holds the key to managing their mind and control their emotions can make some great changes for the future. The problem of course is if you do not have control over your emotions then what and how do you do it. Well friends good news because I am going to share some ideas. What do you thing about sitting down and making some changes to your mind during times when you are looking at some tough choices.

What I mean is that it seems when we face some difficult times is when we seem to make the choices that we need to make because other times just seemed normal situations and guess what you are correct.

We may fall short in our quest for our dreams but only when we leave them behind is when we will loose them-- Luciano The Key Santini

Here you will hear me speak about keeping your mind sharp and ready for changes. My friends tough times are coming for many this year and we need to be prepared simply to survive the chaos of life much less the issues that with a simple life.  we must hold on to our dreams.

I have a great question for all of you: Why is it that people get so upset when change comes our way why why why seems to be the big question. In life we as people feel that we should know what is happening tomorrow and yet we have no idea no matter we may predict it. I believe that we are wired this way because we are habit forming and we form our own habits may they be good or bad but usually bad. It is here where we let our emotions take over and allow them to run our lives. How do we act to change? here is an article from one of my mentors;

Emotions are sometimes strange, volatile, and unpredictable. They do not always respond to logic and reason. They do, however, respond to action. If you have occasional feelings of loneliness, discouragement, or discontentment, the best way to kill such negative emotions is to work them to death. Almost nothing is as bad as it first seems, and there’s nothing like a hard day’s work to put everything in proper perspective. When you begin to feel negative emotions, dwelling on your misfortunes only makes you feel worse.

Do your best to put them out of your mind and think about more positive, constructive things. Physical labor can help. Choose a task that doesn’t require a great deal of concentration, and then focus on accomplishing the task at hand.

"I am here for a purpose and that purpose is to grow into a mountain, not to shrink to a grain of sand. Henceforth, will I apply ALL my efforts to become the highest mountain of all and I will strain my potential until it cries for mercy." -

What Is Leaderhip VS. Management--Luciano The Key Santini SSDE

Well hello my friends and here we are again with the exception that it is Sunday and not Saturday but I can explain. You see yesterday I had to drive for four hour to do a seminar on leadership in Los Angeles and well I had to leave pretty early but it was great. I spoke about leaders and what it takes to be a great leader.

A leader doesn't always need to be around. A leader doesn't need to micro-manage. A leader's role is much bigger, and their behavior should shape almost everything you do, even in their absence.  A good leader is of few words, but ones that matter.

"A genuine leader is not a searcher for consensus but a molder of consensus." - Martin Luther King, Jr.

At this seminar I was asked how would I manage people  if i was not in the office or site where I was to be managing them but was out sick. I explained that during these times your staff should know by now what your expectation are and what you expect from them whether you are there or not there.

You see people know when they are doing their job and when they are not. They may pretend not to know what they are doing or act as if they are confused regarding a procedure or a policy but the truth is that you must not be to consistent on what their expectations are and this is when staff runs a muck. here are some ideas that I studied in the past that taught me some great lessons on both management and leadership and what it means and how to implement the techniques.

Leaders carry out this process by applying their leadership knowledge and skills. This is called Process Leadership (Jago, 1982). However, we know that we have traits that can influence our actions. This is called Trait Leadership (Jago, 1982), in that it was once common to believe that leaders were born rather than made. These two leadership types are shown in the chart below (Northouse, 2007, p5):
 Trait and Process Leadership Models

Management verses Leadership

While management and leadership have a great deal in common, such as working with people and accomplishing the goals of the organization, they do differ in their primary functions (Kotter, 1990):
  • Management's main function is to produce order and consistency through such processes as planning, budgeting, organizing, staffing, and problem solving.
  •
  • While leadership's main function is to produce movement and constructive or adaptive change through such processes as establishing direction through visioning, aligning people, motivating, and inspiring.

Leader
You must have an awareness of who you are and what you can do. You must also be honest to yourself. You must also know that you must have a consistency on how you manage all your staff because they will be the ones to decide whether you are a good leader or a great leader.

If your staff does not have a trust in you as a leader the  they will not follow you or worst yet you will not be able to motivate them no matter what you do. One must have great communication skills because when one needs his or her staff to follow them or to get them to make a change one must be able to communicate exactly what one expects.

No one would talk much in society if they knew how often they misunderstood others. — Johann Wolfgang Von Goethe

Communicating with others involves three primary steps:
  • Thought: First, information exists in the mind of the sender. This can be a concept, idea, information, or feelings.
  • Encoding: Next, a message is sent to a receiver in words or other symbols.
  • Decoding: Lastly, the receiver translates the words or symbols into a concept or information that he or she can understand.

Communication is when there is a good flow of of information exchange from one person or persons to another or to others. To be an effective communicator one must make sure there is clarity and specificity. Many of the problems that occur in an organization are such as:

  • Because people do not know how to communicate instead they choose to pretend to understand.
  • Changes sometimes are not explained correctly and people end up confused and frustrated.
