Do More For People With Passion And Empathy and They Will Follow-Dr.Luciano Santini
In a world where people are loosing touch with reality, it now is becoming a world of lost children in a great big field of lies, manipulation and no leadership. I know that sometimes people do not want to hear the truth that is called reality. I also know that people are afraid of what is not known, but at the same time people can make that change if each individual decides to see what sometimes perhaps is not seen by the naked mind not just by the naked eye.
Start going the extra mile and opportunity will follow you.
Going the extra mile can give you insight and a good reputation, both of which attract opportunity. Many obvious opportunities are found in places no one else has bothered to venture. If you put in the extra effort to make a good project an even better one, or you get to know your equipment better than anyone else on your shift, you will see things others overlook and be in a position to make use of them. Leaders who need a job done think first of people they know who will do it well. If other people respect you for the quantity and the quality of your work, you will find yourself advancing past others who regard their jobs as drudgery. For all the extra service that you’ve rendered, you’ll find yourself more than amply compensated by opportunities others never grasp.
I love this quote regarding leadership because sometimes I find that leaders fall short of leadership skills. I also find that when so called leaders believe they are leading because they sit or are given a position of leadership. These people really believe they are leaders because a position was given to them. I find that these people do not know how to measure their skills and strengths.
I know that there are some great leaders out there that are overshadowed by people who believe they are leaders only because they sit in a position of power and manipulation. I know for a fact and most of you who are true leaders out there will understand that this a true drama that goes on in the real world.
One leadership style that deal with in most cases where people lead by position of power seems to be the
Bureaucratic Leadership
Bureaucratic leaders work “by the book”, ensuring that their staff follow procedures exactly. This is a very appropriate style for work involving serious safety risks (such as working with machinery, with toxic substances or at heights) or where large sums of money are involved (such as cash-handling).
In other situations, the inflexibility and high levels of control exerted can demoralize staff, and can diminish the organization's ability to react to changing external circumstances. This becomes an issue because in most cases there is no money involved but they seem to manage and use this style which in turn kills morality.
I believe more in the Democratic Leadership or Participative Leadership because though it is sometimes a slower process you can speed up by streamlining any process and yet have everyone involved that needs to be involved in the change.
Although a democratic leader will make the final decision, he or she invites other members of the team to contribute to the decision-making process. This not only increases job satisfaction by involving employees or team members in what’s going on, but it also helps to develop people’s skills. Employees and team members feel in control of their own destiny, and so are motivated to work hard by more than just a financial reward.
As participation takes time, this style can lead to things happening more slowly than an autocratic approach, but often the end result is better. It can be most suitable where team working is essential, and where quality is more important than speed to market or productivity.

This type of leaderships ties in really well with another style called Servant Leadership
This term, coined by Robert Greenleaf in the 1970s, describes a leader who is often not formally recognized as such. When someone, at any level within an organization, leads simply by virtue of meeting the needs of his or her team, he or she is described as a “servant leader”.
In many ways, servant leadership is a form of democratic leadership, as the whole team tends to be involved in decision-making.
Supporters of the servant leadership model suggest it is an important way ahead in a world where values are increasingly important, and in which servant leaders achieve power on the basis of their values and ideals. Others believe that in competitive leadership situations, people practicing servant leadership can find themselves "left behind" by leaders using other leadership styles such as using their position power which will start contradictions and sometimes creates conflict among peers with different styles of leadership.

RUN CRAWL CLIMB SCREAM DO WHAT YOU HAVE TO DO TO REACH YOUR DREAMS!!!!-Luciano Santini
I always think about people in General and I also watch people though out the week wondering what they are thinking in terms of motivation. I took one week to talk to many strangers and just asked them straight forward one question.
What are your dreams?
I have to tell you that though this is a very simple question it is a very hard one to answer. The answer that I got from people in general were-
I'm working and I have children there is no more dreams.
I have no idea anymore.
No one has asked me about my dreams since I was a kid.
I am married I have to work.
The dreams I had are long gone.
I am working on them still after 40 years--Probably the best answer I got from over 150 strangers.
I do not know about you but I think if I had spoken to more people the answers would have been pretty much the same or similar to the ones above. I do not know but I am not a dream weaver nor a dream analyzer but I can say from these answers that most people get caught up on daily routines or in a job that they hate to begin with. I believe that we all start life with big dreams but somewhere down the line we are taught to conform and become like everyone else in the world around us. I want to you to notice that I said the world around us and I also want you to notice that at one time people said that the world was one giant square and if we went straight we would fall off.

The one who tries to get something for nothing generally winds up getting nothing for something.
Those who think they can get by in life without providing the same amount of value for value received will eventually find themselves working harder than ever to deceive others and receiving very little in return. Life has a funny way of evening the score. In the long run, you will get in the same measure you give. Spend your time on productive, positive efforts; give generously of your time and talents, and you will stand out from the great multitudes whose primary goal in life seems to be to get something for nothing.
Permanent link to this post: The one who tries to get something for nothing generally winds up getting nothing for something.
You see my friends life is not an easy thing to maneuver through
it takes know how and it takes effort to get up each morning and go to work and most people do this every day and every day out the difference with those that are successful in both work and relationships I that those that tend not to conform with the daily routines nor do they buy that their they are stuck in a job they hate because these individuals will go farther and push harder then those that believe their dreams are over.
You have to push harder if you have children!
You have to push harder if you feel stuck in life!
You have to see further then your hand reach!
You have to fight for what you want!
You cannot conform to the world around you!
You have to see your life as it should be!
You need to go after those dreams you have in the back of your mind!
Say nay! to all those nay sayers and prove them wrong!!
Life is to precious to let it go by you each and every day!!!

‘My Mind Is Where My Dreams Begin My Soul Will Bring Them Forthfront Together We Will Make It A Reality’ Luciano Santini
Hello everyone and here we are again. I have tried to talk so much regarding leadership that sometimes it just makes sense to talk about leadership so much because it is one pf the most needed within every organization.
I have found that within each organization leadership somewhere in the line of the hierarchy someone does not know how to lead but is in a position where they need to lead and yet meaning the top management who placed them in that specific position gave it to them simply because they liked them and so there they are doing a job they have no idea how to do. Pretty sad would you not say and yet we see it each and every day.
I find the quote to be a great one because when the so called leaders find that they are in fact incompetent to do their job they always find an escape goat to blame Wow WHAT!!! you have never seen or heard of that oh yes it exists. People seem not to see it at first because they were their friends and now they are the enemy.
People in general my friends know more about leadership because they are not the one leading they are the ones who will decide whether to follow you as the leader or not and if it is a NOT then you will be simply going through the motions until the people get you out of the organization.
The other side to poor leadership is that when an organization gives someone a position to lead and they find that they are incompetent then they have given that position to an amateur thus making it very costly.
One other thing that is worth talking about today that when you get int a disagreement with your boss though you know and everyone else knows that they are incompetent ask yourself one question and when you ask it make sure you understand one thing. That you understand who is in charge of your position before you you answer! My friends read this passage from Napoleon Hill:
If you cannot agree with others, you can at least refrain from quarreling with them.
When you are involved in a dispute with someone else, it may be the only time doing nothing is better than doing something. There’s a practical reason for this: When you quarrel with others — even if you win the argument — you place a great deal of unnecessary stress upon yourself. It is impossible to maintain a Positive Mental Attitude when you allow negative emotions such as anger or hate to dominate your thoughts.
No one can upset you or
make you angry unless you allow them to do so. Instead of arguing with
others, try asking nonthreatening questions, such as, “Why do you feel
this way? What have I done to make you angry? What can I do to help?”
You may find that the entire situation has resulted from a simple
misunderstanding that can be quickly rectified. Even if problems are
more serious, your positive behavior will go a long way toward helping
resolve them.

"Be happy courageous to reach your goals whatever they may be"-Dr. Luciano Santini
Hello to all my friends around the world who continue to support both my skills and knowledge regarding leadership development and staff development along with continued support for my speaking abilities. It has been a great year so far. I always say any day that you open your eyes to a beautiful day is a great day.
I find that sometimes we forget that though you may not have that great job that pays you a six figure salary does not mean that you are not happy and that life has not given you what you want. I find that people in general want to be happy and do a good job at their respective jobs and positions whatever they may be.
I also find that leadership falls under so much scrutiny and yet the people doing the scrutinizing have no idea how to lead themselves so they find their scapegoats early in their career so it becomes easy to delegate fault when things go wrong.I have had so many mentors in my life and many of them are no longer with us but I will tell you this; that some of the lessons you learn from good mentors will always stay with you.
All enduring success is founded upon harmonious human relationships. Napoleon Hill
Most of us are incapable of “going it alone.” Whether it is in our careers, in our personal relationships, or in life, we all need others if we are to achieve the level of success we desire. Besides, what’s the point of having it all if we have no one we care about to share it? You may choose to work with others, you may ignore them, or you may choose to work against them, but the greatest successes in life come to those who work harmoniously with others.
When your personal goals coincide with
those of another, not only does the power of your combined labors
benefit you, but such cooperation also creates a synergistic effect that
allows you to achieve far more than the simple sum of your individual
efforts. Know that friendship freely given and gratefully received is
one of life’s greatest gifts.
I find that when leaders ignore their staff and do not take the time to listen or simply ask: How is your day going so far today miss the human touch and the opportunity to be human and earn a little something about another human being. I always ask leaders one simple question which seems to be difficult to answer for most.
What do you want to conquer in life? Most leaders will say their staff and to get them to do what they want them to do. I giggle every time I here this because my answer is a human being must conquer their own mind first and then find the skill set that will bring people together, learn to listen to people and then be able to communicate to them. I believe that these are the main characteristics of a great leader. A leader must conquer their fear of others first; then conquer their fear that other want their positions because honestly I find that most people do not want to lead but do a great job and feel needed and wanted and the biggest of all appreciated!!!!.
One of the biggest issues I have found when I do research with staff when I coach or have to restructure processes for any small or large organization is that leaders fail big when it comes to criticizing staff for their faults. I can tell you from experience that if someone tells me that I suck at one thing or another and I can tell you honestly that in my career and life have made mistakes and I mean big mistakes but I have also made some changes and I mean BIG changes in the lives of others whether staff or friends or people that I have never met in person and my friends that is the biggest satisfaction that anyone can accomplish.
I have also made some BIG changes in my life for example people ask why do I do what I do when I could be making over six figure salaries and my answer is yes I could be and have in the past but I found early in life and in my career that choices have to be made and sometimes those choices can be life changing as they were for me. early in my career I made the choice to leave the hospitality industry where six figure salaries were easy to make-hard work and extremely long hours but I was missing my kids grow up and so I made a choice a very difficult one at the time.
I resigned and took a much lower paying position but I was closer to home and was able to make that first birthday and well the rest is history. You see my friends sometimes the choices we make can either makes us a great leader or a horrible leader that holds a high position but has no idea about that human touch that most leaders do not have and will never ever have no matter how much they try simply because of that choice they made that one time that cause them to turn on friends and family and all for that might dollar.
My friends do not misconstrue the money here-MONEY is a good thing specially for businesses! What i am trying to say here is simple when you treat your staff with respect and allow them to say what they have to say without feeling afraid and give them the time of day to listen to them the money will roll in because your customers will be happy to give you their money because you care about your staff which in turn will care about them and it will show in their ability to relate to them.
With all that said my friends-

You Cannot Manage What You Do Not Understand--Dr. Luciano Santini
Hello to all my friends who continue the support and believing in my skill sets to train and motivate your employees and your leaders in your organizations.
This last week has been a tough one as you know I am known for being very transparent and allowing people into my life for the simple fact that I believe that if you know that I am as much a human being as you are then we have a better understanding of where we stand in both business and personal. This last week has been one of those weeks where you wish you did not have to have it done but you know you must or it will get worst as time passes.
I had septoplasty surgery and those that have had it know how painful this surgery can be. The pain medicine well it is basically take it and sleep and when you wake up it feels like you have been under for much longer and you cannot drive anywhere so it has been painful and boring and finally I am able to get in front of the computer to write to all my friends.
Why am I telling you about this in my life? Well because it is just like your business because when you know as a leader or a business owner that you need to take care of something in your business because it is bringing it down and yet you let it go only to make it worst as time passes. I want you to think about that my friends. How many time in your business or career have you let things go because of whatever reason.
Reasons can be from not firing that person who upset your last client to an argument you had at home with your significant other and never resolved it instead you let it go in hopes that either it will be forgotten or never talked about again.
So before we worry about the issues we must take care of them before they get worst or one must deal with the future because we never took care of the issue from the past.
Before worrying about how to get more pay, try thinking how you can do a better job and you may not need to worry.
When you devote your
time and efforts to doing your best at every job you do, instead of
developing persuasive arguments why you should be paid more for what you
do, the pay raises will take care of themselves. When you approach
every job enthusiastically in a spirit of friendly cooperation, you
distinguish yourself from the vast majority of people whose primary
concerns include breaks, benefits, paychecks, and quitting time. Don’t
complain about your status or your pay to anyone, not even to your best
friend. Word will eventually get back to the boss. Which type of worker
would you rather have on your team: one who complains constantly or one
who is always helpful, cheerful, and reliable?
I like what Leslie says below and only because it is so true.
You Cannot Manage What You Do Not Understand--Dr. Luciano Santini |
Hire slow, fire fast---Leslie Barber
Many people before me have recommended
we hire slow, fire fast. Tony Hsieh, co-founder of Zappos.com, was the
most recent employer that echoed these sentiments. He alleges that bad
hires have cost Zappos.com over $100M. Wow, imagine what bad hires are
doing for small businesses?
As
small business owners, we often hire fast, fire slow. Business takes
off and we need help right away, so we hire the first person who walks
through the door. I get it -- been there. However, once business slows
down, we sometimes realize that person might not actually be a good fit
for our business. Then we’re faced with having an awkward conversation
and owning up to our mistake. Take the time to know the role you need to
fill and the culture you are trying to create. But in the end, pull off
the Band-Aid with a bad hire. Yes, it stings at first but with a little
time, it heals and you forget the Band-Aid was ever there.
I will leave all of you to think about millennials and to get to know them and understand them before you make a judgement on anyone of them. Times are changing as we all know and of course the old saying has been around for thousands of years which is that time is constant change and we as owners must always be willing to change with the times or die in the business world because you will not survive unless you understand change.
The biggest issue that I find in most if not all organizations is that in today's fast paced world people are still trying to manage as opposed to leading. When you speak of Millennials you cannot manage them but you can lead them. These guys can be the greatest employees specially if you are a leader that teaches them their passion.

The Business World Needs Positivity
Hello my friends, continuous readers and supporters of this blog. Today I would like to start out with a big thank you to all who support my cause and read my blog postings and who share what I have to say. I just want to say that what I do write most of the time comes from the suggestions you the readers send me to write about.
Today I received a suggestion regarding building a positive environment in the workplace and I have to tell you that of course it starts with leadership and their efforts to make that happen. I have seen many times where you create one as a leader and here comes your boss and because there has been no drama in a while they must create some just to make it exciting for themselves because it affects everyone else in a very negative way and they do not realize it or they just do not care.
Here is what happens to so many good leaders in many organizations when you try; Many managers leave their leaders because they have no relationship building skills ( The so called leaders).
Here is just one story that seems to ring around many organizations;
I was qualified, and had done the majority of
the responsibilities already, so I assumed the job was mine. Much to my
surprise they brought in an elderly women from another store who because she had been around for 20 years leadership assumed that she had the right skill sets. She was really bad at interacting with people, asked my
help with everything, and I might mention she was creepy in the way that
internal customers cringed when she approached them.
I find the problem to be most of the time that management is very controlling and mostly sits in the office all day
watching the employees to see how many minutes they are late.
Here is a great way to start thinking for yourself by Catherine Pratt
www.Life-With-Confidence.com She explains it this way;
There is an African proverb that says,
"When you cross someone on your path who is more
committed to their hatred than you are to your love, then their hatred
will take the place of your love.”
The moral of this proverb is that you need to make the commitment to
yourself that you will walk with positive thoughts and have joy for
life. Don’t let the negative people bring you down. It’s very easy to
get caught in that trap. Step 1 is to be aware of your thoughts and try
to focus on the positive. Listen to your thoughts, are they positive
or negative?
If they’re negative, try to look at the situation from a
different angle and make it a positive. This gets easier with practice.
Also, just because everyone around you is unhappy doesn’t mean you
have to be. This can be tough to do but it’s definitely worth it. If
you can train yourself to be positive in these types of situations, you
will be able to deal with almost any situation you come across.
Remember, most of the time environments are all in how you think about
them. If you think it’s a horrible place to be and there’s no hope,
that’s exactly how it will be. If you look at it as a learning
experience and a challenge to come up with meaningful solutions, you
will be able to find the answers.
Whether you love your job or hate it is really going to depend on how
you view it and what you’re willing to do about it. You have much more
power than you may think. Instead of feeling like it’s hopeless, view
it as a challenge to actually make a real difference in your workplace.
You’ll appreciate the results as will your co-workers. You definitely
have the power to change a negative environment into a positive, fun
place to be. You can do it.
Only the highway of useful service leads to the city of happiness.
Psychologists who study human behavior have concluded that we are happiest when we are striving to achieve success. It is the act of striving, not the successful completion of the task, that provides the greatest psychic rewards. When you strive to achieve success through service to others, you multiply the benefits to yourself, and you ensure that whatever road you choose in life will ultimately lead you to success and happiness.
There is no
occupation or profession that will not benefit from a concerted effort
to better serve others. But the greatest benefit will be to you, in the
form of the self-satisfaction that comes from knowing that you made a
difference, that without you others would never have received the
service you provided.
I hope you really enjoy this posting and please feel free to send me more suggestions regarding what you would like to read about or send suggestions. I am open to anything!!

Understanding People At Work--Dr. Luciano Santini
Hello and a Happy new year to all who continue to follow me and support my dreams which is to bring and change minds one a time. I have some great ideas for the new year some of which are the following. I will be publishing a life journal which was inspired by my kids. It is a journal of great quotes and how they helped me achieve my goals.
Today I would like to talk about what I call the reality of psychology in organizations. While studying psychology many thought that I was going to be a therapist which is a big no. I am not a therapist though at times it feels like I could be during some of the coaching that I have done to top executives in the hospitality industry
OB or organizational behavior is one of those things that will become very important to understand in the coming years due to all the millennials that are going into management or all millennials coming into large organizations. The leadership in some large organizations like Google, Apple just to name a few have been preparing for the future only because they are so caught up with technology by the minute.
What is psychology and some may or may not know nor understand what it is. Psychology is a science that seeks to measure explain and sometimes try to change the behavior of people or animals. One major issue that I have found that the leadership in place in most large organizations do not understand what this means.
In most places you will find that most people are disengaged, bored, hate their jobs and last hate their bosses due to lack of understanding of behavior which will always bring up or create issues in the workplace or with peers due to the lack of understanding on technology. What the biggest issue seems to be most recently is that when millennials are hired they end up leaving quickly.
I did some research and spoke to over 1000 students that had just graduated from universities or city colleges and had found employment where leadership was 45 years old or older and found that they had a hard time coming to work due to lack of training and simply because they could not communicate with leadership and leadership would write them up because they could not keep up with them and they would blame them and tell them that they were being insubordinate.
What leadership needs to understand that if they do not keep up with millennials they are going to find themselves out of a job real soon. Leadership needs to understand that all these issues come from a lack of training and learning for themselves and because they simply resist to change. If leadership continue to resist then the outcomes will not be good because it could lead to a major deficiency for the organization.
There are three major issue in organization that most leaders have to deal with and they are as follows absenteeism seems to be a big one and that is again because when an employees finds themselves bored or know that there is no way to progress or promote and their leadership do not listen to them then they either will miss work or do just enough to keep their jobs until they find something better.
Another one is productivity, when employees have a clear understanding of who they are and what they can actually contribute to the organization but continue to get shot down on any suggestions then they give their ideas to others and find other positions where they can grow.
Another is the most noticed one which sometimes leadership blame on bad hires when the truth is the the issue is not the hires but leadership the one I am speaking of is TURNOVER OF STAFF!!!!.
I will leave you with this which most leadership lack in most organizations; Have a clear understanding of human behavior, you do not need to be a therapist though that would help but here is the jist of it. The goals of OB is to be able to try to predict, explain and control human behavior--Crazy I know!! but if you want a smooth operation better get a certificate or some classes under your belt or the alternative is to find yourself out of a position.

Business,Life,Chaos and Individuals
Well here we are on another beautiful Saturday morning and yet heartbroken. These past few days have been really busy. What I mean by busy is really busy inside my head thinking about what to write and what to think and what to search for. We live in a world of Chaos, in a world where we are not 100% safe anywhere anymore. My heart goes out to all those people that died this past week in San Bernardino in such a brutal and senseless way.
life is such a precious thing to me that I could never imagine anything like that happening close to me and yet it could happen to anyone and anywhere.
We are never prepared for something like this we can say that we are but the reality is we are not. In business it is the same thing. I have spoken and researched business owners regarding the failing businesses and not just in for profit companies but non profit organizations as well.
I have found that while most will prepare a great mission statement and a great vision statement and all it becomes is a plaque on the wall that is totally forgotten soon after it was distributed. I have asked many people to tell me their vision and mission statement and guess what! They can never ever recited for me unless they read it from the plaque. So what does this mean to me, it simply means you are totally disengaged with your company. Let us look at the bigger picture though and the question is why? the disengagement.
Well it is because the mission statement has been created by the top so called leaders and their Human Resource people who to begin with are way disengaged with staff and mid level management. I always find it hilarious when directives come down and are given to staff and mid level managers and their supervisors and expect them to roll out the directives with no direction whatsoever.
The issue is that when you pass on a directive it needs to come with instructions as if it was a bunch of pieces of wood that when stacked together it makes sense and a bench is created.
Imagine a bunch of wood pieces different shapes thrown at you with a simple ( Here it is make a perfect box) I am not saying that it cannot be made but it will take time to figure it out and it may not turn out perfect and perhaps it will look like a box but will it be the box the top designers pictured probably not!!! and why; There was never no direction given.
Today's business world most companies are facing leadership and skills gaps. They are loosing so much knowledge about their companies with all the people retiring. If corporations and organizations do not get the ball rolling and preparation of those they feel have the skills to take over all those positions what they will end up with what I like to call overwhelmed employees and what happens next can and will be disastrous to the organization. What most organizations need to create for their employees is a more communication and diverse environment.
Another issue I see is that most leaders fail to lead people. Let me ask a question when you hire someone do they come to work for you or do they come to work for their own reasons? This is a question that most leaders fail to understand. With this thought in mind we need to realize that everyone is an individual and not everyone learns at the same speed nor do they work at the same speed and yet people are expected to do more with less faster and better. I have to tell you that this mentality needs to stop and leaders need to get a better understanding not of their staff but of the individuals who work for their organization large or small.
When leadership understand these concepts that I have spoken about great things happens because you can identify your leaders and begin to train them and prepare them for promotions they so much deserve because as a leader my job is to teach and prepare the next leader within my organization instead what I see so much of is if someone is smart and has the potential to become a great leader they are shut down by the so called leaders due to their own failures and due to envious minds and thus those great potentials leave the organization to become the leaders they are meant to be and this usually happens with the competition.
Thank you for reading by posts and as always I love the comments and questions.

The Will To Learn New Technology And Be Ready To Accept Innovation Equals Great Leadership-Dr. Luciano Santini
Here we are once again and of course I will continue to talk about leadership in this world today. In many organizations I find and have found in the past when I had to do research that every company wanted the best of the best to work for them but somehow never had the best of the best and the question I always asked them was WHY?
There answers were really not good or specific but disturbing. Some would say that it was because they were always getting the wrong people or people in general lied regarding their skill sets. I would ask again and again why? and What do you think the problems is? Again the reasons were always the same and never specific.
In order to get the best of the best for your organization you will have to take risks with some people and yes you will make mistakes but have a process in place in case you do make mistakes and of course most organizations do not have any type of process in place.
The key to acquiring the best of the best is that your leadership within the or any organizations is to have great leadership that will know who they are interviewing. The problem that I have found over and over is that leaders end up in positions not understanding their competition nor the trends on hiring which will always fail because trends are always changing as I always have said change is inevitable.
One thing that is hurting our economy is that today the need to fill positions in every industry is growing fast but the real issue is that the talent cannot be found. In order to know the trends you have to do your research and most leaders today which come from the directive/control era do not have the knowledge to do the research and the people they have working for them do not either simply because of resistance to change.
The issue is growing that most of today's leaders have no idea of what is coming. You have to learn to stay ahead of the game and look for the talent to assist specially the millennials. The millennials have the knowledge and the skills to move your company. The organizations must be able to understand that innovations are needed with every step that any company wants to take.Another issue is the that the technology available today can break and ruin a company and today's new workforce understand that and they can assist in making things right that have gone wrong.
I will say this again and again that the direct and control management styles do not fit well in today's world of Leadership or management these have to change but time after time they stay the same.Organizations like staff agencies will always tell organizations that they have the best of the best talent for them but let us be honest they have a hard time finding talent due to companies wanting the best of the best and guess what; If they are the best they do not need a head hunter or an agency to find them employment they will use technology and knowledge.
By finding smart and motivated people, you begin to change into a place
where they drive themselves harder than any boss could. Excellent
employees are continually raising the bar on themselves; any mediocrity
will be obvious. That’s when positive attrition begins to kick in,
similar to a sort of exponential “top grading” — you inevitably end up
with an entire team of excellent workers.

CHANGE
CHANGE
Hello everyone and today I would like to talk to you regarding the biggest fear that people face today and have for ever. What is the one thing that all l businesses fear? What is the one thing that people fear in their lives? The answer may or may not surprise you and in all reality it would not really matter. The biggest fear in both sides is CHANGE! I know that most people will tell you that in fact they are not afraid of change however the truth is they are and it does not matter who you are. In business and it does not matter who you are or how big you are in the business world.
So what is it about change that really scares everyone? What is it about the thought of any change that starts the fear factor taking over the mind. You see folks it is not that change that starts up the fear factor it is your mind that the individual allows to accept fear of change that causes the fear factor to creep in.
If one person can take over their emotions and be able to control them then change can be adapted pretty easy. If we but look at the future for just one bit of can be instead of what changes are going to affect me then change will not be so difficult. I have found that any small deviation from a normal routine in a person attracts fear. I will give you an example that I believe most have experienced: Say going to work and you stop every day to buy a cup of coffee at your local cafe and all is well when suddenly you arrive and their is an unusual long line what happens to the mind at that instant?
1) If I stop I could be late
2) If I do not get my coffee I will be a mess the rest of the day
3) I wonder why it is so busy this morning -It is never this busy!! Why today!
4) Dam it do I wait or do I just go to work!!
This is what is I call in the moment thinking which is normal, however the other issue here is that you have allowed your emotions to control your thinking and therefore you are not thinking rationally.Instead think positively.
1) If I stop I could be late but I am curious to see what is going on so I will stop to find out why the crowed.
2) Once I see what is happening I can decide whether to stay or leave and not be late.
3) I can also ask why they are so busy today perhaps they are introducing a new drink for free and I can have one.
4) Once you use the above thinking you can decide whether to stay or leave and not feel afraid or stressed but allow yourself to make a choice safely.
The one thing that most of us do not seem to understand regarding fear is that when we find ourselves in a situation whatever that may be it does not matter we have to face the fear and allow our minds to accept the change and allow our minds to see with a different point of view of what that change would look like if we allow it to happen. The issue is that we do not allow our minds to see things from a different perspective because we feel comfortable the way we see the world and sometimes my friends that is not the right way!
I have to tell you that trying to explain change can be one the most difficult things to do. It is difficult enough trying to explain changes to adults but what about children. We think that any type of change kids will adapt and not worry regarding consequences. I have heard that so many times from parents who have to make changes. Once the change has taken place comes the problems with children or young adults. Why because they were never explained why the changes were needed and whether it would have been beneficial for them the changes were forced down their throats.
How often do you see this in business environments? I see it all the time. The worst part of it is that when it is decided then it is never explained but pushed down peoples throats and when it is not understood then change never happens instead chaos sits in slowly.
Here is a great exercise to use to face your fears try it. This an exercise used by a good friend in the business of motivation and coaching executives: Susan Baroncini-Moe
Take out a piece of paper and a pen and turn the paper on its side so
you’re writing across the long side. Make five columns on your paper.
In the first column, make a list of the things that scare you the most.
Then in the second column, for each of those fears, write down what is
the absolute worst thing that could happen if your fears came true. In
the third column, write down how likely the worst thing is to happen.
Then in the fourth column, write down how that fear is holding you
back. In the last column, for at least one of the fears you’ve listed,
write down how you are going to face that fear. Make it tangible- give
yourself an action to take and a date by which you will take that
action. And follow through!
