What do you get when you hear rumors at your job that your company is about to close down or it is about to start downsizing? What happens is that people begin to freak out and go into a panic.People will naturally become afraid especially if they have been employed at the company for a long time.

 Questions that come to mind: What will I tell my family? How will I explain to my family? Where will I find a new job at my age? All these questions that are very scary indeed.

 What you do is stop listening to rumors and to people that have no idea what is really happening in the company. Then you ask the top people or go to your Human Resources manager and straight out ask and explain your concerns.

You will be able to tell by the conversation you have whether they have been rumors or not and at that point you start to look for another job without informing anyone just do it. Get yourself some advice form an expert and get going and move forward and guess what if the rumors are true then you are prepared and if they are not there is nothing to worry about either way you were prepared.

Remember that there will always be people that will laugh at your downfall, people that love to stomp on all your dreams and goals. These are the type of people you want to just stay away from at all times no matter who they are. Sometimes these people are loved ones or best friends so we thought!!!

What about Monday well today is going to be one of those days where all I do is hang out with my sons and perhaps make myself some great coffee which I' m mixing  as I write. The beans are roasting and the smell in the house is incredible MMMMMM. You see I figured that buying my own beans and roasting them myself and then grinding them and brewing would be a job but it is worth it believe me my friends it is worth it.

Sometimes one has to see what one looks through the eyes of others to find out who you are as a person.

It is Monday and it is President's Day. What does that mean and why do we celebrate it? Is that not a good question of course it is. Let us look at this:

To some, the observance of Presidents' Day in the United States goes very much unnoticed. Local newspapers splash ads of “President’s Day Sales!” and many get the day off from work. But have you ever stopped to think about this important day of recognition?

History

Presidents' Day is intended (for some) to honor all the American presidents, but most significantly George Washington and Abraham Lincoln. According to the Gregorian or "New Style" calendar that is most commonly used today, George Washington was born on February 22, 1732. But according to the Julian or "Old Style" calendar that was used in England until 1752, his birth date was February 11th. Back in the 1790s, Americans were split - some celebrated his birthday on February 11th and some on February 22nd.

When Abraham Lincoln became president and helped reshape our country, it was believed he, too, should have a special day of recognition.

 Tricky thing was that Lincoln’s birthday fell on February 12th. Prior to 1968, having two presidential birthdays so close together didn't seem to bother anyone. February 22nd was observed as a federal public holiday to honor the birthday of George Washington and February 12th was observed as a public holiday to honor Abraham Lincoln’s birthday.

In 1968, things changed when the 90th Congress was determined to create a uniform system of federal Monday holidays. They voted to shift three existing holidays (including Washington's Birthday) to Mondays. The law took effect in 1971, and as a result, Washington's Birthday holiday was changed to the third Monday in February. 

But not all Americans were happy with the new law. There was some concern that Washington's identity would be lost since the third Monday in February would never fall on his actual birthday. There was also an attempt to rename the public holiday "Presidents' Day", but the idea didn't go anywhere since some believed not all presidents deserved a special recognition.

Even though Congress had created a uniform federal holiday law, there was not a uniform holiday title agreement among the individual states. Some states, like California, Idaho, Tennessee and Texas chose not to retain the federal holiday title and renamed their state holiday "President's Day." From that point forward, the term “Presidents' Day” became a marketing phenomenon, as advertisers sought to capitalize on the opportunity for three-day or week-long sales.

In 1999, bills were introduced in both the U.S. House (HR-1363) and Senate (S-978) to specify that the legal public holiday once referred to as Washington's Birthday be "officially" called by that name once again. Both bills died in committees.

Today, President’s Day is well accepted and celebrated. Some communities still observe the original holidays of Washington and Lincoln, and many parks actually stage reenactments and pageants in their honor. The National Park Service also features a number of historic sites and memorials to honor the lives of these two presidents, as well as other important leaders.

In a world where no one really cares whether you survive as a business, what and how do you look at the your customers,family and friends? You see as a business solutions provider those are questions I will always ask you as an individual or business owner. The reason why is because of the following:

What are some of the real issues a small business owner is facing today.

Let look at some such as. Lack of marketing this is a big one though we as small business owners do not take a serious look at this we really should. We need t ask for help when we needed it the most. We need to reach out a to someone who can guide you through t hep process of marketing. 

We need to find someone who can walk us through the entire search for the right techniques that will meet our needs in our specific business that we are running.

What about budgeting? We need money to make money so everyone says right well the truth of the matter is that you do some pretty tight budgeting with little money as long as the little money you may have you spend it in the right areas that are needed the most and make the most sense in other words use some common sense.

How about managing your time as an owner correctly  oh yes time is money right well it can be if you manage it correctly and that takes some serious thinking yes critical thinking on how you are going to use your time. 

One must also learn the techniques that are out there right and if you cannot find the right way to utilize your time efficiently then hire someone to teach you immediately.There is more then meets the ye when it comes to managing your time and business.

We are always thinking about promising ourselves some downtime -- a few days or even hours when we cut back on our workload and give our self a chance to relax. So exactly when are do that? Today, can be that day take it cancel appointments and call and just relax we have to start some time might as well be today.you've got to start.

 Good morning my friends and well here it is: How many time are opportunities given to you or seen when they appear in front of your face. What is it that you need to be able to see them coming!!! Nothing but to be alert that is right just be alert!! Be ready!! Most times we never see them coming until it is to late and then what do we do? Well it goes something like this: I wish this and I wish that but the reality is that the opportunity is gone forever why? Because you were not alert enough to see it coming your way!!!

How many companies out there use knowledge management well I hate to be the one to say it but knowledge management has failed in a big way. Why you might ask well think about it we believe that we can keep it and not let anyone else know about what we know. The truth is the that social power already knows about it and know why your business is failing!!!

Customer Service Always a PRIORITY-Luciano The Key Santini

Hello and good morning my friends around the world who have been connected with me and keep connected with me. As of right now I can barely see straight due a to a pretty bad ear infection ( I just realized that I am human) mmmm scary huh! But I am happy to say that you can still reach out to me if you need my assistance and I will be happy to assist and I promise I will not be annoyed at all.I may not be able to meet you at your offices but I am so happy to help whoever needs my assistance because so many have assisted me in the past.

To tell the truth it flatters me when people reach out to me for assistance in whatever the need or situation may be.People tell me that one of the main reasons they reach out to me is because I always show a calmness and my reaction was REALLY HUH never saw that one coming LOL. But if you really believe that then guess what I am willing to share it with you generously. 

 Business talk is always one of my favorite talks because so many are in need due to what the economy has done to so many small businesses. Today I will talk briefly on customer service a topic that will always be  top priority for me and should be for you as well always.

 What is customer service to you and really the question should be: What is customer service to my staff members and how do they perceive it to be. You see many time we as owners understand what it is and what it should mean to our staff members but many times they have no idea what it means to you the owner so they only do what they perceive. Does this make sens? I hope so and if not just stop what you are doing and walk out or listen to your staff mingle with your customers and well you be the judge.

Great customer service is always a priority to me and that is something that I will train owners and staff alike.

Customers will come to you most of the time because they may have a problem and they come to you in the hopes that you may have the solution they are searching for or you can build enough trust between the two of you and perhaps they will let you try to solve their problems either way it is up to you.

Here are some questions you can ask customers to start the relationship:

What is your situation?

What have you tried to resolve the issue?

Why do you think I could resolve your issues?

Offer them two or more solutions and let them make the choice.

In business let us talk a bit about business! Let us talk about leadership roles.  Let us start on how to identify social power. What is social power and how can it help or deplete a company of clients. Well  let me start by saying that Social power is a central element in analyzing human society and the way it is organized. All human societies, regardless of their normative background, are based around different sources of power.

So what does all this mean simply put it means that social power is managed by those that may be in power say mult-media giants and can manipulate what is recognized and reality and non reality.

There are different types like Coercion which means if you are in power of a large company and everyone know you are the man then guess what that person will use his power of position to get things done and most of the time their way or the highway.

Power of class status - I love this one because it so self explanatory it is what and how it reads power of status it is just that if a person or a company can monopolize the market then guess what happens they can control the markets and the economy this type usually means that all other social power derives from the Status of Class.

How about when a group gets together and really gets the populous going and then the people will believe that what they are trying to sell you is the best thing there is or the only way and direction to move towards.

This type can be dangerous and sometime catastrophic to individuals and the economy and could destroy the smaller companies that may be trying to survive. This is the worst kind because it works off what either individuals or companies believe to be true and either will conform to survive or just have a mediocre stability.

The Action of Persuasion

 Here is where a great speaker or a teacher can manipulate the people to believe what is right or what is wrong and persuade the masses. This type will do everything in their power to have people believe and sometimes take action by persuading to believe that their ideas are the best and only options.m of pow

How about the power of Knowledge

Every time I do a seminar or contracted to train staff or leaders on how to become better leaders I ask a simple question: Why do most people fail? Guess what I get all kinds of different answers and then I say no no no it is simply because of lack of knowledge,

Remember what I said sometimes people do not like to hear what they need to hear because they continue to do all the same things over and over and expect a different result it will not ever happen ever!!It's wisest to give people some extra space just in case.  

As a solutions provider I must play nice but avoid even having to deal with people who can't take the cold, hard truth.My friends life does not always deals us the best hand we have to make with what we are given and develop our talents with what we have and move forward.

Good morning friends and how are we doing  on this Thursday morning? I hope and wish that everyone who reads my blog posts will have a wonderful day today and find that life is worth living when you enjoy life in the now and not worry about the past and not worry about what you have no control over.

How do you get started in life in the right direction well as hard as that may sound you can do and make the changes instantly if you choose to do so yes my friends it is that easy and that simple. You have to make the changes if you choose to do so but you have to want to make the changes because if you do not then nothing will change believe me I know from experience.

I have a question for you business owners. Is your business where it needs to be and if not why not? You see this also comes as a surprise to many because they make so difficult when all you have to do is change the way way you look at your business and how you look at your staff and customers. I know you might be saying if it was that easy Luciano we all would have done it right!

The thing is not whether you would have done it. The real question is are you ready to make the changes needed to move your business forward.

You have to be a leader and what exactly is a leader well let us see.

 A leader is not just someone who tells people what to do is it? A leader is someone who takes hold of the issues and manages the outcome. You must be able to manage the outcome form any situation. You see a leader must take responsibility of the outcomes and carry that responsibility whether the outcome is good or not so good and continue to move forward with a smile. What I find is that instead they will blame others for the not so good outcomes.
