Things to think about when you mentor someone!!

Things to think about when you mentor someone!!

Sometimes it seems like the main source of benefits in a mentorship is for the mentee, but nothing could be further from the truth. The truth is, the mentor can be the one who gets more out of the relationship. Let's look at a few of the benefits of being a mentor.
 Makes Everything Feel New Again
It's kind of like watching a child play in a park. You learn everything new again from their fresh view of life. Butterflies look more colorful, flowers smell better, and everything is a lot more fun. The same applies if you're a mentor for an up-and-coming star in your company, or any company. It's fun to watch them learn and grow, and it feels good to see.
 Improves Job Satisfaction
Mentorships can help you avoid job boredom in your job. You'll feel a lot more satisfied with your job when you realize that someone else would love your job and are in fact trying to become who you are. It feels great that someone will someday take over where you left off.
 Encourages Self-Reflection
When you work with someone who is hungry, it can help you reflect on yourself and what you're doing in your career. Are you really doing enough? How well do you know yourself? This relationship will help you think about these factors.
 Builds More Professional Relationships
When you start working with mentees, you're going to build a network of people who like you, know you, and trust you - even when they move on to a new corporation or start a new business. They're going to think of you, recommend you, and want to keep working with you in some way.
 Increases Peer Recognition
When you are a mentor for others and take care in your mentorships, your peers will respect you for doing it and think of you when it comes to leadership. They're going to see you as more of a leader than others, and that can pay off for you.
 Enhances Learning and Development
When you're trying to help someone else see their learning deficiencies and improve upon them, you're going to notice yours more too. You're going to want to be a good example by taking more classes, going to seminars, and improving your own development.
 Grows Your Network

For every mentee you work with, your network is going to grow by not just one but probably five to ten people due to the people you'll meet through them, and the people you'll meet for them when you look for people to help them.
If you want to garner these benefits of being a mentor, it's important to seek to be a great mentor by learning about the skills needed, taking your mentorships seriously, and putting a lot into it. You get out of it what you put into it, just like everything else in life. #leadership #EVAN STYLE #career #people #leader #work #network

TOO OLD! Non-Sense

 Hello my friends,

The truth is that age comes to all of us and we are unable to stop it so embrace it and keep learning because we all know the following , we just are afraid to face it so do not be and embrace it my friends.
The days when you could find thousands of jobs involving semi-skilled or unskilled work have gone. Automation has replaced human labor and taken always great slices of activity which once involved mundane, routine tasks. Information technology is also beginning to take over in some areas of skilled and professional work, such as quality control and printing, design and administration. Transferable or portable skills – skills which can be adapted and shaped to meet the requirements of several different types of job – are becoming increasingly important.
If your skills have become outdated in a shrinking market, you must be prepared to retrain if you are to succeed in finding new employment. Progress will not stand still simply to accommodate your need for a job, and there is no Divine Right to employment if you are not prepared to put some effort into it.
You may feel you are too old to learn new tricks. The simple truth is that thousands of people are ding exactly this throughout the country, and the opportunities for retaining or catching up with lost education are expanding all the time. Don't be put off by your age or use this as an excuse: you are never too old to learn – it might just take you a little longer.
Deciding to knuckle down to update or expand your skills is largely a matter of adopting the right attitude, but deciding precisely what skills should be updated or expanded has to be researched very thoroughly, and has a crucial part to play in your campaign to find the right job.
If you know your hopes of getting back into your old type of employment are slim, this is the time to begin putting your future into sharper focus and to start planning with a clearer understanding of what you are trying to achieve. To do this you will need to build on your past. #learning #EVANSTYLE #education #future #jobs #employment #opportunities #informationtechnology

How to Enjoy the Holidays With Your Relatives

Hello my friends, as you know if we are honest with each other we all have those family members we really do not like being around for one reason or another. I hope this helps all of us. These few tips for the holidays. Let me know what you think in the comments area.
Here are five simple things that will make the next holiday party enjoyable for everyone.
1) Leave Home Without It
Unless you visit like-minded people, leave your private cause at home. Cover the tattoo, remove the nose ring, take out the tongue stud. Similarly, avoid editorials, lectures, and sermons. Remember: it’s a holiday party. No one comes to be offended.
2) Make Them Special
Let others talk. Be impressed (or at least interested) with what they say. Ask questions to encourage telling more. Find something to praise. Give your complete attention while listening. Appreciation is a gift that lasts a lifetime.
3) Detach
Let others be themselves. Accept what people say, regardless how outrageous. Avoid correcting, criticizing, or complaining. Ignore bait that lures you into arguments. Avoid taking things personally. Just say, “Ah, how interesting,” and move on.
4) Talk Friendly
Offer compliments. Be positive. Be gracious. Be mature. Find diplomatic ways to express your ideas. Avoid negative words, especially “not,” because negative ideas trigger a defensive response. Be a source of solutions instead of complications.
5) Behave
Avoid trick questions (“What kind of idiot would do this?”). Avoid punitive stories that contain hidden insults. Avoid baiting people into arguments. Spend time with people who enjoy your ideas. Realize it is always a bad idea to start an argument. #people #like #familymembers #friendships #bestrong #love #evanstyle

LETS MAKE SOME NOISE

Hello my friends, would it not be great if a measure that eliminates qualified immunity was done away with for state and government agencies and their so called leadership styles.

What would change?
Do you believe that better leadership would be put in place and changes would be made?
Do you think the manipulation and the bullying would stop?
Do you believe people in general would be treated better including staff? Do you believe the dictators would be removed? (-maybe) In the United States, qualified immunity is a legal principle that grants government officials performing discretionary functions immunity from civil suits unless the plaintiff shows that the official violated "clearly established statutory or constitutional rights of which a reasonable person would have known". Because of all the vague policies, this leaves plenty of loopholes to hide behind the policy when a high official screws up!! I know many will disagree with this but think about it guys how much of our current leadership would change? Please share!! #leadership #incompetence #politics #humanrights #change #integrity #people #evanstyle #disruptors

Personal leadership also means “accountability”

We all know good frontline leadership builds both morale and profitability. What happens when you hire someone to fill a position with no experience? Maybe that’s because companies think they’re saving money by not investing in front line leader training or it is someone they know that can be manipulated to use to their advantage. Whatever the reason, why not spend your money on leadership training and development down in the trenches, where it will really do some good? Oh that makes too much sense for some leaders because they should have learned how to be leaders in the first place. There’s the opportunity cost of lost leadership. Finally, there’s the cost of lawsuits. Good frontline leadership creates organizations where lawsuits are less likely. These skills may be tough to acquire, so the switchover to the status of leadership can be very demanding and at times unthinkable in the absence of effective guidance and help. Personal leadership also means “accountability”. It means that you have decided to use the talents that are unique to you and will develop them further to reach your goals. When the staffs are highly motivated and competent, a combination of high delegative and moderate participative styles of leadership is most appropriate. #leaders #evanstyle #disruptors

Forgiveness

One of the most debated subjects around the world is forgiveness. Somebody does something wrong, either against an individual, or against the society. To forgive means to pardon the accused with no resentment left. If forgiveness is complete, the act of offense is totally forgotten, as if it never took place. One of the reasons we ignore and find it difficult to forgive others is because of the pain they may have caused you or your family or both. Example: the so called leader who hurt you and your family by taking money from your salary because they are completely incompetent in regards to building relationships with others and were called out! why? {Politics my friends} Are we doomed to live in misery forever unless we forgive. But we cannot forgive. We know that many people will come and ask us to forgive. What if they underwent something similar? Will they forgive? There other horrible examples I could use in regards to. My research on forgiveness is not in depth but mostly from interviews with both sufferers and the people responsible for the deeds. What I can say is that to forgive someone for hurting you or someone you love is very hard pill to swallow for anyone. Please leave your thoughts below in comments. Please share. #evanstyle #disruptors #mentalhealth #share

INFLUENCER

Hello everyone, I do appreciate the warm thoughts and great comments sent to me privately. So people ask me to become an influencer on linked in and so I ask how do I do that. I speak on leadership and many other subjects but focused on leadership. I am always transparent and always stand for what is right for you, me and anyone who is treated wrong. I do disrupt others and their BS and sometimes what they lie they stand for. Leadership, true leadership is about building relationships with that homeless man standing at the corner market or that billionaire you had no idea was a billionaire. Relationships of all kinds are often perceived as very delicate things, that require extra effort to maintain. However, a relationship can also be something that can provide security and can also be long lasting despite many trials. Building an effective and lasting relationships is a necessity for several reasons. For example in a group or organization, the well being of the people depends on how efficient and effective that group or organization works.

The group or organization is also dependent on how the members work well with the leadership. I am asking you to please share my message as much as you can and help become an influencer on this platform. #evanstyle #disruptors #leadership
