What is virtual leadership?

What is virtual leadership?

Virtual leadership is a form of leadership in which I managed teams via a remote working environment. Like traditional leadership roles, virtual leaders focus on motivating employees and helping teams accomplish their goals.
Virtual leaders must take a different management approach compared to leading in an office, as team communication isn’t done in person, but rather through online and virtual mediums. As such, virtual leaders need a different skill set to leaders in an office setting. The definition of virtual leadership is a form of leadership in which teams are managed via a remote working environment. Like traditional leadership roles, virtual leaders focus on inspiring workers and help their staff accomplish and reach their potential and goals.
The pandemic has forced much of the workforce into remote working, and for many employees, this is the first time they have tried working from home.
However, even before the pandemic, working from home was an increasing trend, with many saying the pandemic just sped up this process:
4.7 million people were already working remotely from home before the COVID-19 pandemic. (Flex jobs)
74% of companies plan to shift some of their employees to remote working permanently after COVID-19 (Gartner)
Before the pandemic, 52% of global employees work remotely once a week, and 68% do so at least once per month (Owl Labs)
77% of remote employees say they’re more productive when working from home. (CoSo Cloud)- JULIAN MAYHEW

To be an excellent virtual leader, you need to get in touch with your team members at an emotional level, and completely honest and transparent when sharing data and status updates (even unfavorable information) in order to maintain credibility and preserve the integrity of the data being shared.
Check in with your team individually to see how they’re doing, particularly as some may find adjusting to remote work difficult. Ask about their families, their hobbies, or something interesting they saw on social media. Empathize with them to show a shared understanding - letting them know that you see them as a person, not just an employee.
When you lead with empathy, you create an element of humanity in an otherwise detached virtual environment. This helps eliminate the sense of isolation that virtual workers can experience, allowing them to feel like they’re part of a live community. I have mentioned before many times. I do so much research on leadership and creating my own techniques to assure that people learn the best way to lead from the heart an then to communicate to staff. #evanstyle #people #leadershipdevelopment #drlucianosantini # #leadership #team #community #research #communication #like #socialmedia #leaders #leaders #experience

Great leadership is a rare skill

Many people assume that if someone is successful it is because they have good leadership skills. Some people assume that if a business is successful it is because it has good leaders. Leadership isn’t something that is particularly easy to pass on to other people. Sometimes a company is successful because a past leader was very skilled as a leader and the current leader simply has kept things running the same as before.

Great leadership is a rare skill. For most people it doesn’t come naturally. It is amazing how many organizations are successful even though they have only marginally competent people leading them. Many times this is because the structure of the organization helps make up for a leaders short comings. Sometimes it is because a particularly talented staff that makes up for the leaders deficiencies.
Any leadership development training should take into account some of the basic facts, which ought to be made available to the individual concerned for developing his/her leadership skill and techniques.
The training or program must adequately deal with deliberations on leadership, and not limit the understanding of the term to its limited sense. Any reference to conventional typecast leadership should be shunned. The training should also incorporate a comprehensive understanding of leadership virtues as applicable to individual requirements, and highlight the subtle differences between leadership and management.
The program should also take into account the attitude of people towards the individual qualities of the leader. It is imperative that leadership development training should be ideally structured in relation to the advancement of the individuals concerned, instead of looking for strengths in personal qualities.
While great leadership skills can make someone successful, the inverse is not true. Being successful doesn’t make you a good leader. If you are looking for leaders to learn from make sure you are looking for people who actually have good leadership skills and not just someone who is successful. You can’t assume that someone is a good leader just because they have had success. Many times people try to emulate people who have had success and try to follow their leadership styles. While this might be a good thing people often end up mimicking the bad habits of individuals and then end up being a bad leader.
One crucial virtue that such training emphasizes is that potential leaders should have the capability to see how details fit into the big picture. Such training also stresses the need to have the attitude that helps one to view things from the point of view of other individuals, and also able to comprehend in the proper manner the most suitable approach towards them. #leadership #people #people #evanstyle #drlucianosantini # #leadershipdevelopment #training #reference

“The winds and waves are always on the side of the best navigators.” — Edward Gibbon, English Historian

Leaders look beyond the current situation – beyond what is to what could be. That’s why leadership is all about change. It’s why leadership is action, not a position.
Growing our leadership is also a dynamic process. It begins at the center of our being and develops in multiple directions, each represented by the timeless leadership principles described in The Leader’s Digest.
Are you tired of being teased by the people around you that you’re not a good leader? Have you ever tried to research about the good leadership? Everyone is not born to be a leader but has chance to be a good one. Good leadership is started from yourself. To be a leader is not a privilege but it is the right that we can enhance ourselves. Leaders lead with heart and rouse team or organizational spirit
Leaders grow people through strong coaching and continuous development. Finally, leaders energize people by building strong teams, inspiring, and serving. This what the EVAN leadership style which I am going to pilot here on linked via conference call real soon. How many of you will show up to a very unique leadership style that encompasses everything you have heard about leadership and what it is truly is. #leadership #evanstyleleadership #drlucianosantinigreatestleaderever #development #coaching #change #building #research #people

Leadership is one of the most challenging

Leadership is one of the most challenging things, and we all likely want to get better at it. You don't always have leadership in your blood, that's for sure. People also have different interpretations of what a leader is.

Some people think leaders are born. For others, good leaders emerge from bad situations. Regardless of what you think, leading is as vital as breathing.
If leading is so important, how can you become a better leader? Let us see what some think?
Skye Schooley
Business News Daily Staff Being promoted to a management role may seem like a great accomplishment, but many professionals find the responsibility to be more challenging than they imagined. Merely being someone's boss doesn't mean you are a good leader.
The inspirational motivation dimension suggests that transformational leaders motivate and inspire their subordinates to complete challenging assignments by sharing their vision and strategies with employee.
Transactional leaders motivate their subordinates through an exchange process. Subordinates that accomplish their job requirements are rewarded while others are punished. Therefore, transactional leaders focus on motivating employees through the
punishment and reward mechanism.
Job satisfaction refers to the pleasure derived while doing a job. Supervisors face a major challenge in ensuring that their subordinates are satisfied with their jobs. A satisfied worker
is more efficient and effective in an organization (Haque & Aston, 2016; Haque et al., 2015).
Subordinates will be more satisfied if they are treated well (Aziri, 2011; Haque, Faizan &
Cockrill, 2017). Individuals’ job satisfaction level is visible from their attitude towards their work. Highly satisfied employees have a positive and favorable attitude towards their work
while unsatisfied workers have a negative attitude towards their job (Armstrong, 2006). One thing is knowing what leadership is but another is to understand what it is and means to another person and able to implement the techniques need to be followed.

Things to think about when you mentor someone!!

Things to think about when you mentor someone!!

Sometimes it seems like the main source of benefits in a mentorship is for the mentee, but nothing could be further from the truth. The truth is, the mentor can be the one who gets more out of the relationship. Let's look at a few of the benefits of being a mentor.
 Makes Everything Feel New Again
It's kind of like watching a child play in a park. You learn everything new again from their fresh view of life. Butterflies look more colorful, flowers smell better, and everything is a lot more fun. The same applies if you're a mentor for an up-and-coming star in your company, or any company. It's fun to watch them learn and grow, and it feels good to see.
 Improves Job Satisfaction
Mentorships can help you avoid job boredom in your job. You'll feel a lot more satisfied with your job when you realize that someone else would love your job and are in fact trying to become who you are. It feels great that someone will someday take over where you left off.
 Encourages Self-Reflection
When you work with someone who is hungry, it can help you reflect on yourself and what you're doing in your career. Are you really doing enough? How well do you know yourself? This relationship will help you think about these factors.
 Builds More Professional Relationships
When you start working with mentees, you're going to build a network of people who like you, know you, and trust you - even when they move on to a new corporation or start a new business. They're going to think of you, recommend you, and want to keep working with you in some way.
 Increases Peer Recognition
When you are a mentor for others and take care in your mentorships, your peers will respect you for doing it and think of you when it comes to leadership. They're going to see you as more of a leader than others, and that can pay off for you.
 Enhances Learning and Development
When you're trying to help someone else see their learning deficiencies and improve upon them, you're going to notice yours more too. You're going to want to be a good example by taking more classes, going to seminars, and improving your own development.
 Grows Your Network

For every mentee you work with, your network is going to grow by not just one but probably five to ten people due to the people you'll meet through them, and the people you'll meet for them when you look for people to help them.
If you want to garner these benefits of being a mentor, it's important to seek to be a great mentor by learning about the skills needed, taking your mentorships seriously, and putting a lot into it. You get out of it what you put into it, just like everything else in life. #leadership #EVAN STYLE #career #people #leader #work #network
