We all know good frontline leadership builds both morale and profitability. What happens when you hire someone to fill a position with no experience? Maybe that’s because companies think they’re saving money by not investing in front line leader training or it is someone they know that can be manipulated to use to their advantage. Whatever the reason, why not spend your money on leadership training and development down in the trenches, where it will really do some good? Oh that makes too much sense for some leaders because they should have learned how to be leaders in the first place. There’s the opportunity cost of lost leadership. Finally, there’s the cost of lawsuits. Good frontline leadership creates organizations where lawsuits are less likely. These skills may be tough to acquire, so the switchover to the status of leadership can be very demanding and at times unthinkable in the absence of effective guidance and help. Personal leadership also means “accountability”. It means that you have decided to use the talents that are unique to you and will develop them further to reach your goals. When the staffs are highly motivated and competent, a combination of high delegative and moderate participative styles of leadership is most appropriate. #leaders #evanstyle #disruptors
