When We Assume In Life And Business OOOPS!-- ASS-U-ME ---Luciano The Key Santini

Good morning to all my continued readers and supporters of this great journey to assist people reach their potential as individuals and also business owners reach their goals in life and business. We all want to accomplish what is best for both the mind and body. We should understand exactly what that means.

Sometimes we will try to accomplish things because they sound good at the time while not getting the correct mind set in place and thus we find ourselves failing. The other thing for today is to have a clear understanding regarding leadership and as we all know countless books have been written over the last hundred years on this subject.

Don’t overlook small details. Remember that the universe and all that is in it are made from tiny atoms.

There is an old expression that says, “If you take care of the little things, the big things will take care of themselves.” It’s another way of saying that every job is composed of many small details, any one of which, if overlooked, can create big problems later. If you have trouble dealing with details — paperwork, expense accounts, and other annoying details — set aside a time during your work cycle (daily, weekly, or monthly) to deal with such unpleasant tasks.

Prepare yourself mentally to deal with those tasks, and you may find that you dispense with them quickly and efficiently. You may even find that the job wasn’t nearly as unpleasant as you expected it to be.

What is leadership?

I can tell you that most leaders today are called leaders but they have no idea what leadership is. I can also tell you from the countless people that I have coached both at a supervisor level or an executive level that most manage or lead through fear or simply put they lead by power of position in other words what I say goes or go look or find another job.

I can tell you that this work for a while but most will eventually fail. My friend and one of my many mentors and friends has stated what it means to be a leader and of course I agree but have disagreed with him in the past and guess what that just makes me human with a different way of looking at things. Here what I wrote to an executive leader regarding a letter he had sent me.

Please be aware that all this is under the assumption that your leaders know and have a clear understanding regarding implementation and execution of the strategic plan and what each mean such as:

What is and how to execute successfully transformational change to be able to create a high performance culture which in turn becomes integration between both companies.

Communication skills: What is the process of not only transmission of words but to create the thought that  will or should follow making sure it was clearly understood.

Relationship building skills: What is the process of repairing a damaged relationship between partners? Or Staff members?

Building and getting the buy in of employers.

Leadership: January 2015 | byClaudio Feser, Fernanda Mayol, and Ramesh Srinivasan

  • Solving problems effectively. The process that precedes decision making is problem solving, when information is gathered, analyzed, and considered. This is deceptively difficult to get right, yet it is a key input into decision making for major issues  as well as daily ones (such as how to handle a team dispute).
  • Operating with a strong results orientation. Leadership is about not only developing and communicating a vision and setting objectives but also following through to achieve results. Leaders with a strong results orientation tend to emphasize the importance of efficiency and productivity and to prioritize the highest-value work.
  • Seeking different perspectives. This trait is conspicuous in managers who monitor trends affecting organizations, grasp changes in the environment, encourage employees to contribute ideas that could improve performance, accurately differentiate between important and unimportant issues, and give the appropriate weight to stakeholder concerns. Leaders who do well on this dimension typically base their decisions on sound analysis and avoid the many biases to which decisions are prone.
  • Supporting others. Leaders who are supportive understand and sense how other people feel. By showing authenticity and a sincere interest in those around them, they build trust and inspire and help colleagues to overcome challenges. They intervene in group work to promote organizational efficiency, allaying unwarranted fears about external threats and preventing the energy of employees from dissipating into internal conflict.

He believed that leadership was simply making and changing policies and sending out to supervisors to implement.Remember that sometimes we think we know it all simply because we are sitting in a position of power and sometimes that is where we will fail as leaders because we assume and we all know what that means right and if not please allow me to remind ourselves.

When we do not make sure whether something is right or wrong or we simply do not know or understand and we push and push by assuming the other person has a clear understanding what we mean.

When we
assume the consequence can make us look like an ASS-U-ME

This is what a client drew and gave to me and I was very flattered and thankful. WOW!!

Partnerships And Experience And How To Make Them Work-Luciano Santini SSDE

Good morning to all who follow my postings. It is always a real and true pleasure to write for you and so thank you so very much for your continued support.I have to warn you that before you read this we have to understand that when we go into partnerships there has to be clarity and communication mirrored like a marriage.

OK today I would like to talk about what it is to be in partnerships in real life or in business. Both can be draining and difficult if specifics and clarity is not properly placed from the beginning. When clarity and specifics are not in place from the get go you will always have difficulty trying to manage money for example or manage knowledge from staff. This will become a difficult and draining task simply due because you have no idea what to manage and thus complaints and rumors and gossip will always be a fire that needs constant water.

The one thing I know from experience is that most managers or CEOS who have no idea on managing knowledge will continue to manage people and at one time that was  the way to do it but today that is gone.

Cookie cutter plans  with no specificity and clarity are for wannabe managers and they will never work.

Unfair or Unbalanced Roles

Like a good marriage, a good business partnership brings together two people whose personalities, skill sets, intelligence, know-how, and other attributes complement each other. When there is proper balance, the partnership produces a union that’s more powerful than either person acting alone.

But a successful partnership can’t happen or endure when there’s a fundamental imbalance. Trouble generally arises when one partner feels he or she has too much or too little:
  • authority,
  • responsibility,
  • time commitments, or
  • investment in a desired outcome.
The ideal situation is one in which each partner feels good about his or her contributions and the other partner’s efforts. Of course, the requirements of a business are constantly shifting. So, a successful partnership needs not only an initial balance, but also a mechanism for re-balancing the partners’ individual workloads as often as necessary.

I also believe that psychology and understanding people differences play a big part of managing partnerships appropriately. Psychologically, the inability to resolve conflicts often signals basic incompatibilities in a partnership, personal dislike, or divergent worldviews and values. But even if all that stays in the subconscious background, difficulty resolving disagreements generally reflects important differences in communication styles, priorities, and personal flexibility, any of which can put extra pressure on a relationship.

Another big reason partnerships do not work is because one or the other is afraid of confrontation and when this happening well guess what? When there are issues nothing will be said or stated and thus the world begins to fail to the point where frustration will set is and hatred towards each other and staff members will come to a boil.

People are afraid to confront one and another. If you are partners you should not be afraid to talk to each other about concerns or major issues that come up and resolve them together. This is a major reason some partnerships have so many issues they are afraid on a little confrontation and or hurt each others feelings.

Feeling must be put aside and focus on the business and staff. If one or the other is messing up somebody needs to voice it and be able to agree to sit down and work out the issues.  partners should be able to say what is on their minds and be able to listen to staff to listen what is on their minds as well.

If partners are afraid to listen to each other or face a little bit of confrontation when it happens then there will eventually be no partnership.

ROLES that people will play:
Make sure you clearly define who is going to work on what so you aren’t stepping on each ideas.

How Did You Do In Business Or In Life Last Year 2014!!! SSDE

Hello to ll my readers and guess what? Here is the new year umm I believe it is now 2015!!
Here are some serious questions to ask yourself:
How was my self respect last year?
How did I do last year?
Did I do all I could have done to move forward in both my personal life and my business?
How did I do with family?
How did I do in my relationships?

I love this wisdom from one of my mentors Napoleon Hill: He says that if we only do what we need to to get by then and expect to have everything we can think of. I believe that we as humans believe that we need to work hard and sometimes we do not get what we want or accomplish what we want and we simply give up and thus only do what we need to do to get by and live our lives accordingly. I believe people in general get ambition mixed up with persistence and never get out of that mind set and stay stuck forever. The questions above are simply a way to get your mind to think about who you are as a person and to perhaps get you motivated when you sit and think about the year that just went by 2014.

The individual who only does enough work to get by seldom gets much more than “by.”

There is a cause-and-effect relationship between your actions and the rewards that accrue to you. When you put more of yourself into your career, your personal relationships, your religious faith, and any other aspect of your life, you get more out of it. If your ambitions are greater than simply “getting by” in life, you will never be truly happy with your company, your job, or yourself unless you do your best every day. Your harshest critic and your toughest competitor should be you.

Well my last year was one of the best years it was a year of great accomplishments and many sacrifices. It is was year of many long nights and much studying which gave me the knowledge to reach heights I never thought I would but again with many sacrifices.People I have to tell you that if you want to accomplish anything in life there will always be a sacrifice so you have to know and understand that and if you do not then you are really not accomplishing anything and that my friends is the bottom line.

As a life coach and business coach my job is to make sure that either the business or the individual reaches the heights he or she or business want to reach and not just a plan of action. Many people believe that if a coach gives you a plan of action it is all well because you have the schematic to change.

I always laugh when I see the plans of actions that were given to people who seek my assistance in reaching their goals. I ask them one simple question whether a business owner or an individual.

HAVE YOU FOLLOWED IT?

The answers I get are amazing to me because they forgot to teach the steps- step by step they simply gave the plan but what was forgotten was the techniques in other words how to do it. Our schools are the same now in our education system. The kids need help to read not simply give them books to read. The world needs to change not simply told to change it needs people to take to the streets and make the changes.

In business my friends you do not need someone to tell you to make the changes or the changes that need to happen: You need someone to explain the changes and why they need to happen and work with you side by side to make sure not only the changes take place but the right changes take place; if not it will be a waste of time and money.

In this world of chaos we need brotherhood in life and in business to reach full potential.
Santini Self Development Enterprises works with your company as a whole but also with the individuals who are expected to change their attitudes towards the better of the organization. This is why SSDE is the solutions provider to the self and to the world of business. In our business we believe as serving you the business owner your staff and clients and not sell you anything but add value to your business, your staff and your clients lives. Our core value is to place the needs of the client before the needs of SSDE.

One of the things that most business owners never realize is many times times they have what they need they simply need to refine their tactics and perhaps retrain staff or management or both. The real questions becomes How do we do that?

Any job contains opportunities for personal growth if you approach it as a positive learning experience. Just as every business is required to adapt to new technologies, new competitors, and countless other changes that routinely occur, so is every individual. In a dynamic organization, it is impossible to master every task; just when you think you have everything figured out, things change. Accept such changes as a necessary aspect of business, one that makes life interesting and exciting. Napoleon Hill

What are the keys to success in the real world-Luciano The Key Santini

What are the keys to success for a student in the real world who just happened to graduate business school?
Please go to this video and share and like  or subscribe to it.
Thank you in advance.
 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ieedb6x3LeU
Well this will go for anyone who just completed business school. The keys to success is once you have completed those long years of study the time has arrived to get to know who you are and where you are at this time in your life. The other is to create a strong network of mentors and yes I will repeat this create a network of MENTORS this will become one of the most important pieces of the puzzle to success. Sometimes while you are in school you can ask a professor to become a mentor while you are attending school.

Conceive, Believe, Achieve.
Whatever the mind of man can conceive and believe, the mind can achieve.

I believe this one to be one of the most if not the most important piece of the puzzle to success. This is the piece that I like to call the puzzle to the mind that will need to be unlocked by you on your own. This will become so important because you will have to put strong thoughts into your mind to create your own belief system of who you want to become.

The next key is that once in a while and perhaps many times after you graduate you will have to take risks.
There will be times when you will be tested. There will be times when your will will be tested! your courage will be tested and your mind will be tested. This will be the time to become strong and believe that you can make it. This will be the time when your network of mentors will be needed so you can pursue those dreams you are hanging on to.

The next key is to believe and have confidence in your skills and your talents. What you have learned in college should be strong to keep you believing why you attended school and why you spent those long days and long and sleepless nights trying to make the grade.

I would like you to remember the next few lines that I live by  and who I learned from one of my favorite mentors Napoleon Hill who has always been an inspiration to me just from the books and videos that I have read and viewed.

The best job goes to the one who can get it done without passing the buck or coming back with alibis.
We often discover that people we view as “overnight successes” have in fact labored for years in obscurity before they were finally recognized and rewarded for their contributions. Success is a cumulative effort; the journey to the top in any field is usually long and requires careful planning. If you want to climb the first rung on the ladder of success, you must always take the initiative to get the job done, even when you find it less than challenging or even unpleasant.

Eventually, you’ll earn your reward. You will become the boss, the leader, because you have developed the habit of taking the initiative to get the job done. You will get the best jobs because you’ve proven that you are dependable by accepting responsibility for your actions and your future.

Remember that books and schools only teach the theories and give us the tolls to succeed. it is up to you as the individual to implement the tools and succeed. Yes that is correct it is only up to you to choose to succeed!!!

Books are movies that can be played over and over in the mind to strengthen the brain and feed it positive thoughts of success if you so choose to learn.

Here are some things to think about when searching for your first job; Here are some competencies:

What skills and competencies will you need to be successful after graduation?

Turns out, employers are looking for more than just a degree; they're looking for individuals who will be successful in today's world.

Michigan State University worked with a number of employers to identify 12 essential competencies for success. These 12 essentials are best developed both inside and outside the classroom.

1 Working in a Diverse Environment

Learning from people who are different from you-and recognizing your commonalities-is an important part of your education and essential preparation for the world you will join.

2 Managing Time and Priorities

Managing how you spend your time, and on what, is essential in today's world. Learn how to sort priorities so you stay in control of your life.

3 Acquiring Knowledge

Learning how to learn is just as important as the knowledge itself. No matter what your future holds, you'll continue to learn every day.

4 Thinking Critically

Developing solid critical thinking skills means you'll be confident to handle autonomy, make sound decisions, and find the connection

between opportunities you have to learn and how those opportunities will affect your future.

5 Communicating Effectively

Developing listening, interpreting, and speaking skills is just as important as reading and writing.

6 Solving Problems

You may only have thought about problem solving when you're faced with a crisis. Understand the process and mind-set of successful

problem-solving and you'll more easily handle the bigger challenges that come your way.

7 Contributing to a Team

In the workplace each person's contribution is essential to success. Having the ability to work collaboratively with others is vital. This includes identifying individual strengths (yours and others) and harnessing them for the group, building consensus, knowing when to lead and when to follow, and appreciating group dynamics.

8 Navigating Across Boundaries

Life is filled with boundaries-good and bad. Discover how to avoid the boundaries that become barriers so you don't hamper the ability

to collaborate with other people.

9 Performing with Integrity

It only takes one bad instance to destroy years of good faith and good relationships. It's important to develop a code of ethics and

principles to guide your life.

10 Developing Professional Competencies

The end of college is the beginning of a new education. Build on what you already know and keep learning new skills-your job will challenge

you to grow and develop in ways you haven't imagined yet.

11 Balancing Work and Life

You've got a lot to accomplish in limited time. How do you get it all done and still stay sane? The key is maintaining balance among the

different parts of your life.

12 Embracing Change

Just about every aspect of life is in a constant state of change. Sometimes it may seem that no sooner do you get caught up than you have to start all over again. No matter how you feel about change, you have to learn to deal with it.

Your Solutions Provider In Life And In Business
We all want peace on earth and we all want to be happy however we first need to let go of the pieces that make us unhappy -Luciano The Key Santini

Good morning and how is everyone around the globe who join me each Saturday to read my posts. I hope each one of you is doing well.I would like to say thank you to all of you for reading and following me on my journey to change the world one mind at a time with a real perspective of the real world and to look at the world for what it really is and not for what we as individuals would like it to be.

How many times have we been told that knowledge is power? You can acquire all the knowledge there is to acquire my friends but if you have no idea how to implement that knowledge guess what!! It does you no good at all. Here is an article that two of my friends and mentors wrote a while back and would like to share,

 Knowledge
The accumulation of great fortunes calls for power and power is acquired through highly organized and intelligently directed specialized knowledge, but that knowledge does not necessarily have to be in the possession of the man who accumulates the fortune.

We all recognize (at least I hope most of us) that knowledge is instrumental to value-creation and that knowledge as an asset is far more important than traditional assets such as equipment, real estate or buildings. And to a great extent, every organization must become a knowledge organization and that every employee must become a knowledge professional.
However, knowledge can be very messy – trying to turn tons of data into knowledge, not to mention the fact that the value of knowledge diminishes over time. Additionally, knowledge has little power in the workplace if no one shares it. Therefore, knowledge often lacks power. For example, knowledge is very inter-related; i.e. one part adds value to another part and when combined, knowledge has much more power as opposed to restricting knowledge to certain select areas.

This is why competitive intelligence can be important since competitive intelligence pulls the pieces together for a “strategic” view of things, giving knowledge enormous power.
“It is evident that knowledge is rapidly becoming the firm's primary instrument of progress and competitiveness. Existing knowledge defines our productivity and competitive skill in the present; new knowledge determines our productivity and competitive skill in the future.”
- Information, Organization, and Power: Effective Management in the Knowledge Society by Dale E. Zand

Even little things deflate the power behind knowledge – people are denied access to it, people are unable to use it or people fail to learn from it. Knowledge comes alive when everyone collects it, shares it, and learns from it. The internet provides an excellent example of how knowledge gains power – everyone can easily tap knowledge at the click of a mouse, making knowledge a common commodity just like water or electricity. Everyone uses the stuff to improve their quality of life.

In order to advance knowledge, barriers must be removed, allowing people access to it and communicating it in such a way that people can easily take advantage of it. By simplifying knowledge, we give people the power of knowledge since they can now execute on it.

“Companies survive on their ability to adapt when necessary, and it is increasingly necessary for them to do so. Successful adaptation is not, however, a chameleon-like response to the most immediate stimuli – a quick switch to a new enterprise or an impulse acquisition. Rather, successful adaptation seems to involve the thoughtful, incremental redirection of skills and knowledge bases so that today's expertise is reshaped into tomorrow's capabilities.”
- Wellsprings of Knowledge: Building and Sustaining the Sources of Innovation by Dorothy Leonard-Barton

Knowledge becomes very powerful given the right kind of culture. For example, people are responsive to what is required within an organization based on the culture and authority that is superimposed by management. Knowledge becomes powerful when people share what they know so that collectively everyone is moving in the right direction. This requires a culture that rewards and recognizes learning and ideas. Additionally, people usually equate knowledge with some form of training, but the best forms of knowledge tend to be informal, whereby people increase their knowledge in an open learning environment (and this gets back to the culture of the organization).

Finally, you can assess if knowledge has power within the workplace. For example, it is important for people to understand the “big picture” behind an organization. Many employees are unclear on basic organizational things – strategy, organizational structure, who the competition is, and other overall facts related to the company. Therefore, a good starting point on your knowledge journey is to make sure people have knowledge about the fundamentals of the organization.

“Attempting to build a knowledge organization, however, is neither a short-term effort nor a one-off project. The process of becoming a knowledge organization can be visualized as traveling along the knowledge organization path. Some organizations are not even on the path, others are just starting on the path, and still others are further along.

The underlying assumption is that those companies on the knowledge organization path envision and behave differently from the more 20th century companies. Those with knowledge orientation focus on ideas, creativity, and knowledge. They speak of ‘intellectual capital' as opposed to traditional assets. Most important, the leaders of knowledge organizations fully realize that their most important assets walk out the door every night. Whether those assets show up the next day is of vital importance to the future of the knowledge organization.”

Always Continue On Your Journey And Never Stop Fighting!! SSDE

Hello and good afternoon; Who is Luciano The Key Santini? Well I believe I can give you a pretty good description in regards to that great and awesome question and here it is;

This is who I am !!!
Tenacious and enthusiastic- A drive for success with an entrepreneurial mind and soul.A vibrant professional with an eagle eye focus on results.Spirit to build and lead highly paced teams & Businesses towards achieving business objectives.I started from a young age o and worked my way through hard work and education to eventually where i am today.I'm a proud father and friend to my sons and daughter, Who are the balance of my world and everything I do and create. My children are my passion and my drive to succeed for greatness in life and living.

I guess I was thinking about me growing up and thinking what will I become when I grow up?

I realized at a very young age that I must stay focused and keep my brain sharp always and in line with my goals. I have always had the philosophy that if and when obstacles come my way and cross my mind or when the negativity sets in I must know within myself to be strong enough to sustain myself when the tough gets going!! My sustainability must be strong. This is the key to a strong mind.

I want to talk about your business and your organization and I have a question for you the owner! Did you know that at one time Henry Ford offered anyone $25K if they could show him how to save one nut and one bolt on each car he built.

What are you willing to pay someone to teach you techniques that would significantly push your business forward? That is just something to think about.

Henry Ford is reported to have offered $25,000 to anyone who would show him how to save a single nut and bolt on each automobile he made.

Without Henry Ford, our country would not be the America we know today. His obsession with reducing costs and improving productivity allowed him to build the first automobile that ordinary people could afford and led to the construction of a vast network of roads and highways that gave birth to today’s mobile society.

It also set the stage for total quality management and continuous improvement programs that are prevalent in the automotive industry today. We would all be well advised to take a page from the lessons that the automotive industry has learned in recent years. An obsessive focus on the needs and wants of our customers allows us to become an indispensable

Victory is always possible for the person who refuses to stop fighting.

Julius Caesar had long wished to capture the British. He sailed to the British Isles, quietly unloaded his troops and supplies, and gave the order to burn the ships. He then called all of his men together and said, “Now it is win or perish. We have no choice.” With that single order, he guaranteed the success of his campaign. He knew that people who have no other alternative — or will accept no other — always win.

If you find yourself in a situation where victory seems impossible, you may benefit your cause by developing an alternate course of action. If your objective won’t yield to a full frontal assault, try an oblique approach. There are very few problems in life that are impossible to solve, and few obstacles that will not eventually give way to a determined, motivated person with a plan that is flexible enough to cope with changing condition.
