The Essence of True Leadership: Empathy, Positive Attitude, and Nourishment

In the realm of leadership, there exists a multitude of theories, styles, and approaches. Yet, amidst this diversity, certain qualities stand out as the hallmarks of a real, true leader. Empathy, valuing one’s fellow humans, maintaining a positive attitude in the face of adversity, and nurturing one’s mind are the pillars upon which genuine leadership is built.

At the forefront of contemporary leadership discourse is the EVAN leadership style, pioneered by the visionary Luciano Santini. This innovative approach not only complements existing leadership styles but also brings forth a transformative power that resonates across every organization worldwide.

Empathy:

Empathy lies at the heart of genuine leadership. It is the ability to understand and share the feelings of others, to walk in their shoes, and to genuinely connect with their experiences. A true leader doesn’t just see their team members as resources but as individuals with their own aspirations, challenges, and emotions. By cultivating empathy, leaders foster trust, build stronger relationships, and create environments where people feel valued and supported.

Value Your Fellow Human:

In the pursuit of leadership excellence, it's essential to recognize the inherent worth and dignity of every individual. Valuing one’s fellow humans means embracing diversity, treating everyone with respect, and fostering inclusivity. When leaders prioritize the well-being and development of their team members, they cultivate a culture of collaboration, innovation, and collective success.

Attitude Against Negativity:

Negativity can be pervasive in any organizational setting, from setbacks and challenges to conflicts and criticism. However, a true leader approaches these obstacles with a positive mindset. They see adversity as an opportunity for growth, setbacks as lessons to be learned, and criticism as constructive feedback. By maintaining a positive attitude, leaders inspire resilience, foster optimism, and create a culture where challenges are viewed as stepping stones to success rather than barriers.

Nourishment of the Mind:

Just as physical nourishment is essential for the body, mental nourishment is crucial for effective leadership. The EVAN leadership style emphasizes the continuous development and enrichment of the leader's mind. This involves engaging in lifelong learning, seeking diverse perspectives, and practicing self-reflection and mindfulness. By nourishing their minds, leaders enhance their decision-making abilities, deepen their understanding of complex issues, and foster creativity and innovation within their teams.

The EVAN leadership style, with its emphasis on empathy, valuing others, positive attitude, and mental nourishment, not only elevates individual leaders but also contributes to the overall mental health and well-being of organizations. By prioritizing the holistic development of leaders, this approach creates environments where individuals feel supported, empowered, and motivated to reach their full potential.

Furthermore, in the spirit of diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI), Santini introduces the DEI+B leadership style, which encourages everyone to tap into their leadership potential. Regardless of background, experience, or position within the organization, the DEI+B approach recognizes and cultivates the unique strengths and talents of each individual. By embracing diversity and fostering an inclusive environment, this style not only enhances organizational performance but also promotes social justice and equity.

In conclusion, true leadership transcends traditional paradigms and embraces a holistic approach that prioritizes empathy, positivity, and continuous growth. The EVAN and DEI+B leadership styles, championed by Luciano Santini, represent a paradigm shift in leadership thinking—one that empowers leaders to make a meaningful and lasting impact on individuals, organizations, and society as a whole.

The Hard Reality Of Execution In Business-Luciano the Key Santini

Good morning to all who read my blog and take the time to send me feedback which is very important to me because I get to see what my audience needs and wants to read about. Thank you for giving me the many opportunities to write for you.

Let us talk about something that is so important to use but many business owners do not utilize correctly in both private and nonprofit organizations. the SWOT analysis. So what is a SWOT huh? I get that so many times. people have heard of and perhaps knows what it is which is awesome but do they know how to use it and then how to implement what they discover!! like the gaps in their business!

Let us define it first:

SWOT analysis

SWOT analysis (strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats analysis) is a framework for identifying and analyzing the internal and external factors that can have an impact on the viability of a project, product, place or person.

The really funny part of this along with so many other tools that can be used to assist small and large businesses figure our or discover for the first time their inefficiencies within their company or themselves is that when they do discover their issues they have no idea how to fix them.

As you know when we have issues or problems that we know we need to fix but we do not know how to take care of them we seek out help!! However most so called leaders or business owners or individuals are ashamed of their situation or simply do not seek help and thus FAIL!!!. They have no idea how to implement or my favorite word of all time EXECUTE!!!

So what does implement mean:

Implementation is defined as a specified set of activities designed to put into practice an activity or program of known dimensions.  According to this definition, implementation processes are purposeful and are described in sufficient detail such that independent observers can detect the presence and strength of the "specific set of activities" related to implementation.  In addition, the activity or program being implemented is described in sufficient detail so that independent observers can detect its presence and strength.

It is common to read about "implementation" of a program or practice as if it were an accomplished fact when the context of the statement makes it clear that some process (more or less clearly described) had been put in place to attempt the implementation of that program or practice.  When faced with the realities of human services, implementation outcomes should not be assumed any more than intervention outcomes are assumed.

When thinking about implementation the observer must be aware of two sets of activities (intervention-level activity and implementation-level activity) and two sets of outcomes (intervention outcomes and implementation outcomes).

I have gone to so many meetings and seminars where it is supposed to be a leadership role to be able to manage implementation and execution, however through out the entire seminar they never mention ways to execute but only speak of the issues which I find hilarious that no one questions what they should be learning but go along with what the speakers are saying but none have to do with execution of a process.

On another note my friends today I have the honor and the privilege to watch two of my sons have their baseball games. The little one is in the playoffs and the other fighting to get back in first place they should both be great and exciting.

If you are really great, you will let others discover this fact from your actions.

In the final analysis, all that really matters are your actions. You may talk a good story, but no matter how good you are at selling others on your capabilities, eventually you have to perform. It is true that people are generally forgiving and will overlook an occasional failure to deliver upon your promises. Ultimately, though, you must live up to your promises to others if you ever expect to make a lasting impression on them.

Make it a habit to demonstrate your abilities before talking about them. Seldom is anything worthwhile achieved without the help of others, and nothing is ever achieved without some form of action. The road to failure and despair is littered with the dreams of those who failed to act upon them.

In Order To Change There Must Be Ongoing Challenges And A Particular Mindset-SSDE-Luciano The Key Santini

Good morning to all those who continue to read and support my blog. It has been a great year so far and here we are so close to April 2015 WOW!

How do you create transformation in your personal life and in the workplace. I can tell you from the many people that I have been their personal life coach that it takes so much to be able to create that personal transformation within oneself. People think that it is simply thinking about that changes but it goes so much deeper into the soul of understanding. First let me define personal transformation for you:

"To Transform One Must Face Challenges With An Open Mind" Luciano Santini

Personal transformation is a change in the way you feel about yourself and subsequently the world. Personal transformation is sometimes called personal development, personal growth or spiritual transformation. Personal transformation can happen in many ways.

You see my friends when you change from within it will eventually transfer on how you look at others and the rest of the world it goes deeper then just a perception of others and the world. Another definition is as follows: One will need to create an analysis as you would for a business or in the workplace or what is known as a  concept analysis of personal transformation. Here is a pretty good model that I like to use in real life and in the workplace. I personally used this model while doing my research on human psychology and self development of the human mind.

Personal transformation, a multidimensional concept, is applicable to nursing practice, education, and research. Using a modified version of Walker and Avant's concept analysis model, personal transformation was analyzed relative to Newman's Theory of Health as Expanding Consciousness. By integrating common themes from definitions of several disciplines with Newman's theory, a definition of personal transformation was derived.

Personal transformation is a dynamic, uniquely individualized process of expanding consciousness whereby individuals become critically aware of old and new self-views and choose to integrate these views into a new self-definition. A conceptual map depicts the defining attributes, antecedents and consequences of personal transformation. A model case illustrates the applicability of the concept to nursing education. Because the transformation process is revealed through individual patterns, qualitative research for further analysis of the concept is recommended.

"Look Inside Yourself To find What Makes You Who You Are"  Luciano The Key Santini

I always find it hilarious when someone is asked what transformational change is and we all have different definitions of what we may think it is or might be and the answers might all be correct, however if we do not know how to implement or execute the models or the techniques then you will become stuck whether you are an individual or a corporation for profit or a non profit.

Now remember one must have the understanding of the self first in other words know who you are and understand where you are in life. Once a person whether the individual trying to figure who and where they are or a CEO trying to figure out where the corporation or organization is trying to go.

Whatever the situation may be do not try to push ideas on people when you the pusher or pushers have no idea or you may know, however the ones who you are asking to implement your ideas have no idea how to execute what they are trying to push on to other individuals in general.

I will share a concept from two professors of who are still mentors by Marcia Daszko and Sheila Sheinberg, PhD's;

Transformation has become a popular, overused and misunderstood word in organizations in the twenty-first century. Hundreds of organizations hear the mandate for transformation. The mandate comes from Congress, the Pentagon, government agencies, and the senior military, corporate executives or school Superintendents. Leaders and their organizations are compelled to respond to the mandate.

They attempt to “talk the language” and take action in pursuit of transformation. Often the response, however, is a reaction, actions and mere incremental changes that are neither sustainable nor systematic. Unfortunately, few individuals understand transformation or why there is an imperative for transformation, not merely incremental or transitional change.

Often, people confuse transformation with any kind of change, technology breakthrough, innovation, process improvement or transition. However, few changes are truly transformational. Management typically interchanges the words and thinking for changing and transforming an organization.

But there are unique distinctions—and those distinctions, applied and realized, not only result in a competitive edge but in unparalleled leadership that is rare to find and that can make a difference for society. However, while all transformation is change, not all change is transformation. To transform means to change in form, appearance or structure. Transformation in the context of the management of organizations and systems occurs first in individuals, and then, in the organization.

Transformation is the creation and change of a whole new form, function or structure. To transform is to create something new that has never existed before and could not be predicted from the past. Transformation is a “change” in mindset. It is based on learning a system of profound knowledge and taking actions based on leading with knowledge and courage.

As Victor Hugo said, “An invasion of armies can be resisted, but not an idea whose time has come.

Good morning everyone and thank you for reading my postings and thank you for your continued support on my life long journey to keep on trying to change the minds of people with a new perspective on where the world really is as opposed to what we wanted to be. Please understand that of course the world can be what we wanted to be in our minds simply because we have immediate control of that where we live and where we are employed.

If we do not like where we live then we can move and yes many will say;Well it is not that easy because we will need money and this and that to be able to move and though that might be true at that moment we still have the power to move immediately it is simply a choice. I did a little experiment on Friday evening at the mall.

The experiment went like this. I walked around the mall for a bout 30 minutes and watched people as I walked around and noticed that most people as they passed me by kept their heads down and wondered why. I smiled at everyone and I was dressed professionally so to me there was no reason for people not to say hello or something anything!

I then did the second part: I walked around the same area but this time I actually said hello to people and some responded and some did not they just looked at me a like I was crazy. I would laugh to myself because people are afraid of making any type of attempt to say hello.

Control your own mind, and you may never be controlled by the mind of another.

The mind is the most powerful weapon known to man. It simply cannot be controlled or contained by an outside force, however formidable that force may at first appear. Throughout history, tyrants have tried to control those who opposed them, but eventually these rulers discovered the power of the imagination was far greater than the threat of the sword. As Victor Hugo said, “An invasion of armies can be resisted, but not an idea whose time has come.

How does this experiment fit into business

Well let us see and understand why this fits into any business. We all know that any business needs and thrives on customer service correct. I also realized and perhaps we all know this or perhaps we do not. People are paid when employed to do a or perform a job so when they get paid they do it and only when they get paid in most companies this is how it is done. The strange thing is that when you do such experiments you find who like to talk to people and those that do not unless they get something in return.

I find this a strange thing because you start to wonder about who you are as a person. Here is where you as an individual will start to question who you are as a man or a woman and this is where you will  realize what this world is like and the truth is that this world is so disconnected from human interaction that it is no wonder why we have the dysfunctions in organizations where no one want to work together.

I can tell from from experiments and research that you can teach anyone to talk to people if you pay them even if they are afraid to talk to people in general. People will talk if you pay them or reward them. I also find to be fascinating that people in general are good people the problem is that we have become disengaged thus the issues in organizations. I do these people experiments because it is a way to develop oneself it is a way to find out who you are as individual.

If you go to a restaurant where there is a children's playground and if you have children try this. Take your children and let them play for a few minutes and before you know they will start playing with other kids that they have never ever met. Why is that? I think the children have the answer to what most organizations have been searching for and have been paying millions of dollars to consultants to help them create teamwork and synergy among their employees.

I always talk about changing the world and yet we still have such a long way to go but only because we as humans or grown up human beings have lost our childlike fun times. There are many books out there on this subject and yet we still do not get it. People are so disengaged in this world that we have wars all over simply because we do not talk, because we do say hello to one another.

Why is it when you go to see a move that is sad we cry? Really it is a movie we have no connection to the actors. Why is it when we hear a song that touches our hearts while we are driving we cry or smile and yet we have no connection the person singing the song? It is simple my humanoids.

It is because whether we like it or not we are all connected and if we simply talked to each other we would find that perhaps we are different in one o\way or another perhaps we do not understand each other via language barrier but guess what our commonality is that we are human and we all have a mother and a father and someone loves us so why would we want to take that part away from each other?

Finding The Solution To Your Business Needs Or You The Individual.

Good morning everyone around the world who follow me on my journey to change the world one mind at a time through a different perspective of seeing the world for what it really is and not for what it seems.

In business it seeing the business world from a perspective of what the competition really is and what techniques to use and learn for your business to grow.

The needs are different for every business as it is for every human being they are all different perhaps just slightly different however that small change in attitude or that slight upper hand of knowledge regarding the competition would make the biggest difference would it not? Of course it would!!

I have found during my research that when a new business comes into town everyone is gung ho about and of course everyone wants to check it out and they do. What happens in the next eight to twelve weeks will define that business whether people will continue to come in for either your services or your products. People will let you know just by their actions almost immediately if they will continue coming and if they like what you offer by simply not coming back or coming back and marketing your organization via word of mouth.

In my world it is all about finding the solution to your business needs or you the individual. My friends it is all about the strategies the person needs to be able to find out who they are and what they need to reach their goals. In business it is all about sitting down and figure out the best strategy needed to streamline a process or create the technique your organization needs. It could mean training on customer service or management training. It could be finding out what kind of managers you have running your business.

I have found that sometimes a business has the wrong kind of customers and perhaps has a need to change the way you are marketing your products or services. The guiding principles and planned objectives set by management to be followed by an autonomous division of a company. A separate business unit strategy for each division will often be prepared and used by larger companies that have considerably different objectives among their various divisions. So what is the meaning of strategy: Keep in mind that there is also structure in every organization and sometimes that has to changes as well which will bring resistance and on and on.

strategy

1. A method or plan chosen to bring about a desired future, such as achievement of a goal or solution to a problem.
2. The art and science of planning and marshalling resources for their most efficient and effective use. The term is derived from the Greek word for generalship or leading an army. See also tactics.

Usage Example
The international market is currently four times the size of the American one and growing, making it an essential part of any company's expansion strategy.

The only safe way to boast is by constructive actions.

It has been said that it’s not boasting if you can really do it. This may be true, but a far more persuasive argument is made when you do it first and talk about it later. Besides, good things that are said about you always carry more weight when they are said by someone other than yourself. When you find yourself tempted to wax eloquent about your achievements, force yourself to pause for a moment, take a deep breath, and ask someone else about their achievements.

I have been told to my face that I have done a great job by an organization and guess what it feels good!!. I have also been told that I have a done a horrible job at one point or another, however each time whether it was great or really bad guess what? You might ask what happened? or you can simply say to yourself: I will do better the next time and move on.

As a leadership and organizational behaviorist I find that people do not fit a cookie cutter and all people have a different attitude and a different personality and that you have to cater to each one of them differently and if you do not but try to make a fit for all technique; your organization will fall apart I assure you that will happen; Experience and training and best of all PEOPLE have taught me that lesson and yes it took a long long time to see it and even longer to create different techniques that work and that my friends is an art.

I have also seen people try to create what I have done and well it does not work why they ask? I tell them because you are missing certain components that need to be in place for the human side of it in other words you have to convey and connect and that has never been an easy task for any consultant or trainer it is an art.
